"Wow they are rich rich" Bre shouted walking along the pier with Taylor and Belly.

She agreed to go to a party after seeing Finn get home. She needed a distraction and to make an effort with Belly so this was an excuse.

"I mean who owns a boat" Taylor shouted.

"Which one is it?" Belly asked looking at her phone.

"Um, that one?" Bre questioned, seeing Gigi and Nicole waving.

The three girls looked up in awe seeing this amazing boat.

It wasn't long after they boarded they all had a drink in hand and were playing a game. A well-known one at that.

Never have an ever.

"Never have I ever had sex," Gigi said giggling.

Everyone put their hands down but Bre and Belly.

"Never have I ever gone to 3rd base," Nicole said.

Again neither Bre nor Belly did anything.

"Never have I ever had a hot make-out session with Jeremiah Fisher" Taylor shouted, Bellt slowly put her hands down after this.

"Really?" Nicole said.

"Sorry Gigi" Belly said.

"It's okay, but like how?" Gigi asked.

"It just happened, he's my best friend," Belly said.

"Damn always thought you liked Conrad" Nicole said sipping her drink.

"Wrong sister" Taylor commented.

"Hey," Bre said.

"Wait really?" Dara said.

"Nothing had happened, it's a childhood crush" Bre said sipping ok her drink.

Until took a long until someone else started doing it again.

"Never have I ever gone skinny dipping" Everyone put their hands down but Belly.

"Never have I ever gone Skinny dipping in Hoppers Cove," Nicole said looking around. Nobody put their hands down.

"Let's go," Gigi said jumping up.

All the girls grabbed their stuff and jumped in the car driving over there.

It truly felt like summer. With girls singing cringe songs and going swimming at night.

"Okay let's go," Nicole said running out.

They all got changed and jumped into the water. Bre felt free which was weird. Like nothing could top this moment.

"Taylor" Bre said swimming over to her.

"Hey," Taylor smiled.

"Did Conrad ask you to the Deb?" Nelly asked smiling.

"Yeah but Susannah made him so I'm gonna go with Finn" Bre said confidently.

"Oh, he's been telling me how much he wants to go with you. Like restart summer" Belly said her smile dropping as she spoke.

"Oh well that's not what it sounded like earlier" Bre responded.

"Nicole, Conrad texted" Dara shouted.

"I'm telling you this, he likes you. He never shows it but he does. I'm the last person to say this to you Bre" Belly said.

It was true, why would Belly say it if it wasn't true?

"Where are they all going?" Taylor questioned seeing all the girls getting out and running the car.

Bre and Bwlly looked at each other before they swam over to where Taylor was at the edge.

"Shit Bre," Taylor said handing her phone to her.

Conrad
It's not how it looked. I want to go with you.
I'm sorry. I'm not good with my words.
This summer I should've spent my time with you, not anyone else. It's been our dream since we were kids to have our last summer before college together and yet I've spent it pushing you away. I'm sorry.

A smile spread across Bre's face reading the text.

"Where are our clothes?" Belly questioned looking around and seeing nothing but a boat cover.

"Sorry guys," Bre said, realising they were all naked in the middle of nowhere.

"Who shall I call?" Bre questioned.

"Don't do that, anyone we call with makes it worse" Taylor said. She always knew what to do in these situations.

The three girls started walking in a close huddle being covered with just a boat cover.

"I'm sorry, if I had put my phone on silent, they wouldn't have seen it" Bre whispered starting to shiver.

"Bre doesn't apologise, it's just something that happened," Taylor said nudging belly to say something but nothing was said.

The silence echoing through the night was enough to make the girls scared let alone not distracted.

"Shit who did you call?" Taylor asked when two cars pulled up behind them.

"I didn't call anyone" Bre answered, noticing it was Jeremiah and Conrad.

"She didn't call us, Nicole told me what happened" Conrad said jumping out of his car with a bag.

"Are those our clothes?" Belly asked.

Jeremiah nodded.

The two fisher boys held the boat cover while the girls got changed.

"Who are you gonna go back with?" Taylor asked looking at Bre.

"Conrad, we need to talk" Bre said sliding on her shorts.

"And we will go with Jeremiah?" Belly asked double checking.

"Yeah," Taylor said.

The group split up into the two cars with Bre and Conrad in one then Taylor, Belly and Jeremiah in the other.

"Do you want the heater on?"Conrad asked looking at Bre when they got into the car.

Bre nodded not wanting to talk to him. She felt all this anger over this situation. But didn't know how to tell him.

"I am sorry, I meant everything that I said in that text," Conrad said as he started to drive.

"I don't believe you" Bre answered back.

"I don't know what else I can say to make you believe that I want to take you to the dance" Conrad said looking across at Bre and back to the road.

"It's about the dance anymore, Connie. This summer I've wanted to make the most out of it. It's potentially the last summer with Susannah and before College. And all you've done is make me feel like shit" Bre let out.

The silence in the car was spreading the closer they got back to the summer house.

They sat in silence for a good few moments, which was when Bre decided to get out.

"Breanna I don't know what to say, I've been a dick. I'm not good at communicating and the thought of losing my mom is enough to tear me apart let alone the fact you're going to a college half across the country" Conrad said stopping her from getting out of the car.

"Don't you think I know that, I'm not good with feelings either. God I've had a crush on you since we were kids and I never said anything. It's like you want my attention but I can't have yours" Bre shouted back.

"We are both a mess Conrad" Bre whispered.

"I'm sorry, I mean that from the bottom of my heart. You are the last person I want to hurt" Conrad whispered, he reached out for Bre's hand to hold.

"How about you go to the Dance with Finn, then after we spend the rest of the summer spending time with everyone?" Conrad suggested.

"Fine but you can't act the way you have done the last month. I want you to tell me every scary thought you have or feel. Promise?" Bre questioned.

"Promise" Conrad whispered pulling Bre into a hug.

The two teenagers went inside and enjoyed a night of watching the stars and talking about everything they did as kids and what their futures could look like.
