Chapter 45

Joan and Jose are watching TV when Joe comes back from the bathroom still feeling sick. Joan quickly runs to get the medicine cabinet and gives Joe some medicine. Joe lies down on the couch and Joan stays with him to make sure he's okay. Jose turns off the TV and joins them. They spend the rest of the evening talking and joking, taking care of Joe until he falls asleep. Joan and Jose clean up the medicine cabinet and turn off the lights, leaving Joe to rest peacefully. Joan and Jose stay with Joe until morning, making sure he's comfortable and well-rested. They take turns keeping watch over him, ensuring he has everything he needs. In the morning, Joe wakes feeling much better. Joe thanks Joan and Jose for their help and they all have breakfast together. After breakfast, Joan and Jose gather their things and leave, feeling relieved that Joe is doing better. They promise to come back later in the day to check up on him. He felt incredibly lucky to have such a supportive family and friends. Joe knew he could always count on them in times of need. Joe watched them drive away with a sense of relief.
