Shooting her eyes open, Sophia found Noah bent in front of her, all his concentration placed on unknotting the damn ropes twisted around her wrist.
“Noah.”
Sophia managed to utter through her dry throat, with obvious quiver in her voice, eyes fogging with moisture.
“I am sorry Sophia.”
Noah spoke, but never raised his line of sight to meet Sophia’s eyes, he was not able to do so.
“Sorry for?”
Sophia asked, not getting his point.
“Sorry, because of me and my family drama you are in this turmoil, stuck.”
Still Noah didn’t raised his lids.
“Thank you.”
Finally, Noah looked up, to peep in Sophia’s hazel woods, to find only candour.
“For coming to rescue me.”
After a mere pause, she spoke again.
“You turned from a villain to hero of my life.”
The later part she spoke with a laugh.
Leaving the ropes in it’s place, Noah hugged Sophia, tightly, as if have found his peace in her, around her.
“I became so frightened. I-I didn’t knew how to manage me. I was afraid what if I lost you forever.”
“But look at me, still alive and breathing, in front of you. All in one piece. “
Sophia spoke in a muffled voice, from between his arms.
Separating himself, Noah held Sophia by her cheeks and inclined his head, concentrating on her lips.
“Thank you so much, for being so.”
Sophia closed her eyes, with Noah’s advancement.
“Ahem, guys, can you please continue this at home. Please not in front of me, Sophia still has my heart.”
As soon as Dexter’s voice hit Sophia’s ears, she sprung free and far from Noah. On the other hand Noah passed death glares to Dexter as if would kill him if even one word is uttered by him.
“Sorry to burst this beautiful, full of romance and idiotic emotions bubble, but your mother is also present here. What to do with her?”
Noah’s pearly eyes darkened, many shades low on mention of her mother.
Only after mention of Julia, Sophia recalled her presence, causing her to turn her head to the culprit of all the happenings. And finally found her sitting in chair at the front of her, with hand bleeding and hot lava dripping from her red eyes. Her face was full of rage, as if was unhappy with his son finally got to save Sophia. The pain from gunshot was nothing compared to what her heart was experiencing.
Bending down Noah again begin to untie Sophia’s wrist and leg. Once succeeded, he spoke like coaxing her.
“Love, can you wait for me some moments? I got to have a nice long talk with your mother-in-law.”
Taking her own time, Sophia looked at Noah for a long time, followed by nodding her head in agreement.
“Good thing.”
Getting up, he walked back to the chair where Julia was held by Leo, and looked down at her, without an ounce of love a child carry for her mother.
“I came to meet you even after you disowned me.”
Listening to his words, Julia rolled her eyes, but Noah preferred to continue.
“Even after you killed the only person loved me, my father; even after you tried to kill me.”
“I was the one to rescue you from the mental hospital.”
Sighing Noah continued.
“That was the biggest mistake of my life.”
This caught Julia’s attention and she turned to meet the self-same ferocious gunmetal eyes as her own.
“I did warned you not to be anywhere near Sophia, but you didn’t listened to me. I can’t help but she is the most precious asset of mine.”
Julia maintained her composure, listening to Noah, waiting patiently for him to jump to the point.
“You are going back to the mental hospital.”
Noah was not even able to complete himself and Julia begin to shake her head. Her face had the clear evidence of creeping fear.
“No. You can’t do this Noah please.”
“I can and I am.”
Noah spoke stuffing his hands in his pockets.
“No, don’t you forget I am your mother.”
“A self-obsessed mother? Yes you are.”
“Seriously Noah? You are doing all this over an orphan?”
“She is my wife. She has me.”
Noah roared, and his surrounding resonated with his heavy chill sending voice. Even Sophia flinched listening to him.
“Not a word about her. You too abandoned me for man. You grow what you sow.”
Noah stepped back and nurses from mental hospital stepped in to hold the struggling lady.
“Noah please, I beg you. I won’t ever come after her.”
Noah walked back to Sophia and picking her up in his arms, he begin to walk out of the factory full with painful memories, ignoring the screams of Julia.
All along the way, Sophia’s eyes remained glued to Noah, who was clenching tightly his jaw, as he walked off, leaving behind his only family.
Placing Sophia in passenger seat, Noah secured her using seat belt and placed a long, sweet, full of emotions kiss on Sophia’s lips before lifting himself up and closing the door with a thud.
As Noah begin driving, Sophia oscillated too and fro several times, not able to decide weather she should commence talking or not.
“How are you feeling?”
The silence in the car was killing Noah and waiting for Sophia to speak up felt like an aeons, so he himself decided to initiate the one.
“I am fine.”
Noah nodded his head, in acknowledgement. And the space again hushed.
“How are you?”
This time Sophia asked Noah about his well being.
“Totally fine. I was not the one tied and held hostage in abandoned factory with gun pointing on my head to blow brains out.”
Noah spoke smiling, nearly facetiously.
“Noah.”
Sophia placed her small palm over Noah hand that where clutching the steering wheels till his knuckles turned white.
“You can let go the held up emotions.”
“It’s way too early to ask for Sophia.”
Actually he was not wrong. To let go, who he was, how he behave, the way he deals with his emotions, in just a go is too much to ask for. One can’t do that. He will be in need of some time along with space.
Sighing Sophia made up her mind not bring up the topic again for meanwhile.
“Where are we going?”
Sophia asked, taking note that they were not heading towards the direction of home.
“To my friend’s home. Edward.”
“Oh.”
Sophia thought it might be not the correct time to pay visit to any friend but psycho like Noah does what he wishes for.
“He is a doctor.”
Sophia remained silent.
“I requested him to pay bedside visit to you, but he seemed to be busy with um,, some personal matter. So I am taking you to him.”
“Bedside visit to me?”
Sophia’s eyes enlarged to form shape of a big almond.
“Yes, you may have some internal injuries, we need to get you checked thoroughly.”
Sophia huffed.
“Noah I am totally fine. Julia didn’t even touched me.”
“Care to explain the red mark blooming over your cheek?”
“A mere slap from her strong palm.”
“And blood dripping from your lips commiserate?”
“It’s already dried, moreover I bite it between canines.”
Noah passed chills sending down the spin look to Sophia before concentrating back to the track.
“Sophia.”
“Yes.”
“No more arguments.”
Exhaling sharply, Sophia sat back quietly on her seat.
Once they reached Dr Edward’s apartment, Noah scooped Sophia up from passenger seat in his arms and walked to the door.
“Noah I can walk perfectly on my own two legs.”
“No, you can’t.”
Noah spoke ringing the bell.
“Yes I can.”
Sophia twisted in his arms and Noah remained tight lipped, not wishing to give any reply to her.
“Noah please..”
Before she could complete her, door shot open and Dr Edward came in view, with creased shirt and messy hairs falling over his forehead.
“I can see what personal matter you had to take care of.”
“Still better than publicly carrying wife in arms.”
Listening, Sophia threw her legs and arms in air to set herself free while Noah didn’t budged, maintaining eye contact with Edward.
“Anyways, hello Sophie, this Dr Edward. I would have loved to invite you in but your possessive husband is not ready to set you on your feet. So,”
He turned to face Noah again.
“Come in.”
“I am just setting foot in this shabby alley because Sophia is involved and it’s too much to ask you to bring your ass to my mansion.”
Continually playing like a broken record, Noah walked in the direction of a closed room and was about to enter when Edward interrupted from behind.
“Please not in that room. Another one.”
