My Guardian Angel

Prologue

 I had just finished my shift at the diner I work at. I had to work a late shift to cover for my friend who had a 'family emergency'. I saw his phone I knew he was lying.

But, like the good friend I am, I still covered his shift.

That has caused me to stay until ten pm and it would be total blackness outside if the street lights weren't on. I had to walk all the way home because having a car is a luxury I could not have only being in high school.

My parents were the kind of parents who thought I had to earn everything. They also thought that I needed to pay for college myself. So, because of that, I got a job at the diner when I was only a sophomore.

I look down the dark alleyway that is a shortcut to my house.

Should I take it...? I mean it is pretty dark.

I decide that since my legs are already killing me from walking around taking orders all day, to just take the shortcut down the dark creepy alleyway.

Once I step into the alleyway I can feel eyes watching my every step. I brush it off as me just being paranoid.

When I'm about halfway through the alleyway I hear something snap like someone stepped on something.

And it wasn't me.

I freeze in my spot and look around the alleyway. I don't see anything and I start walking slowly towards the end of the alley.

Before I can do anything, someone in a clown mask jumps out with a knife in their hand.

I try to run but before I can I feel the knife go into my stomach. I scream out but the man covers my mouth. He takes the knife out and I can see that it is covered with my blood.

I feel him stab it into my shoulder.

Then he stabs me again.

And again.

And again.

Thirteen times.

He drops my body to the floor, probably thinking that I'm dead. I most likely will be soon.

I can feel the blood draining from my body. I probably don't have a lot of time left.

I never even got to tell my parents goodbye.

That was my last thought before my whole world turned black.
