@TasheykeDrummond thank you for the vote! I appreciate it a lot🥺🤍

I couldn't hold back the tears in my eyes. My husband is playing me like a master, and with each passing moment, my heart shatters a little more. It's hard to believe how easily I've been deceived, especially by Miguel, the last person I expected to hurt me.

I thought he was meeting with Mr. Shintaro, but it turns out that was a lie. I just found out today after seeing a picture of Miguel and Maureen in a restaurant in Cebu, shared by a mutual friend. He tricked me, that liar!

I want to lash out at them, to hurt them for the pain they've caused, but I'm crumbling inside. I want to shake some sense into Maui and make her realize she's involved with a married man.

"Why did you call, Ren?" I asked her on the other end of the line. Tears are flowing freely now, and my heart aches. Silent sobs escape my lips.

I need to step away from this situation to give my weary soul a break. Among all the troubles my husband has brought, his infidelity hurts the most. He promised he wouldn't cheat, but it seems I'm learning that promises are meant to be broken.

"I just have a feeling you're not okay," she whispered. This friendship is unexpected but cherished, and I'm grateful that Karen is my best friend. She always comforts me, especially when I'm feeling low. Karen is the best friend I could ever wish for.

"Miguel, he's cheating," I managed to say through loud sobs, and I heard Karen's frantic concern on the other end of the line.

She's never liked Miguel from the start, but my heart only wants him. Just Miguel. Always Miguel. And now, I'm hurting because of him. Perhaps it's true that the one you love is the one who can break you.

She sneered and angrily said, "That bastard! Where are you? Shall I come to you?" Her words were filled with concern.

I chuckled weakly and replied, "You're in Cebu, Ren." I knew she must be struggling because of what I had just told her.

"I'm coming back," she insisted.

"No, I'll be okay. Seriously!" I chuckled softly, hearing her snort in response.

I could handle it. I didn't want to interfere with her life. She had taken time off to rest, and I didn't want her to return just for my broken heart. It's just a broken heart, nothing more. That's the reality, Clea.

"From the beginning, Caprice, you knew I wasn't a fan of Miguel, but since you love him, I supported you all the way," I acknowledged.

I knew that. "But I almost believed that your husband had changed," she said angrily.

I wanted to believe that too. Miguel had been a wonderful guy, cherishing and loving me with all his heart. He had taken care of me. I didn't know what had happened between us; he had just changed one day. I didn't know why or how, but I was hoping Miguel would return. I missed him.

"I saw him here with Maui." Her tone was cautious, concerned that I might be hurt again.

Just hearing it caused my heart to ache with intense pain. When would I ever accept the reality that he was now out of my reach? He wasn't my Miguel anymore.

"What do you want me to do about his mistress? Do you want us to use 'barang'? I know a shaman." I laughed at her suggestion. Silly.

I might be in pain, but ruining someone else's life using what they called 'barang' was never an option for me. I despised them, but not to that extent.

"You're crazy," I replied.

"I'll just shave Maui's head; maybe that will wake up that idiot!" She shouted angrily.
