Chapter 8

I went to find Fred in the Great Hall making my way through students, accidentally knocking over a first year. Oops. I perched down next to him on the bench as he was scoffing his face with George. I was pretty disgusted at the way they were acting like pigs. "Find a date then Swallow?" Fred said as he had a mouth full of food. I gave him a look of disgust before I replied "no I've not so guess I'm stuck with you!" I rolled my eyes teasing Fred. "I'm not that bad!" He exclaimed, "better get a pretty dress to wear, I want you looking spectacular on my arm!" "I don't need a pretty dress to do that," I laughed slapping Fred on the back. George shook his head. I then said goodbye and left the twins to pig out. Gross.

I ran back to common room but as I reached the stairs to the rooms a familiar blonde stopped me. "So Swallow? Who's you're date to the homecoming?" Draco asked still somewhat annoyed at me for rejecting him. "That Malfoy you will have to wait and find out," I replied with a sweet grin on my face skipping back to my dorm room. I loved winding that boy up!

I bounced through the door to my dorm room causing Astoria and Nala to jump. Astoria scowled my way causing me to let out a sarcastic smile. I grabbed Pansy's arm and beamed "I'm going to homecoming I've got a date, I'm going with Fred!" Pansy squeezed with excitement. "Oh my god yes!" "I need a dress though Pansy and I haven't brought anything to Hogwarts with me!" Pansy sighed and thought to herself, "don't worry I know just the place! Day trip to Hogsmeade it is!" I smiled. I had heard of Hogsmeade but had never been. I was so excited for a girls day out shopping! I sort of felt at home with Pansy, like I did with Cleo. Pansy welcomed me with open arms and that I will forever be grateful for.

Pansy and I were linking arms the whole walk to Hogsmeade. We were laughing and joking about me fancying Fred. I didn't fancy him for a fact. I didn't look at Fred that way! I did like him but more in a friend way. A platonic soulmate kind of way. He reminded me of one of the boys at my old school, Arlo, who was just as witty as Fred and gave the best hugs. Just a male friend, people were too scared to have them nowadays as people would just accuse you of fucking each other.

I was still a virgin. I'd never let myself be touched by another guy. I was shy in that department although nobody knew. People thought of me back home as a bit of a slut. I had kissed a few boys drunk here and there but nothing further. People thought it cause I was the pretty one.

As me and Pansy arrived into Hogsmeade I couldn't help but notice it's beauty. Hogsmeade was a picturesque little village of thatched cottages and shops, the only other place other than Diagon Alley where you could go without seeing a muggle. It looked like the perfect picture for a postcard.

As I was admiring the little village, Pansy intruded my thoughts by shouting "in here!" Pansy dragged me into a little boutique called The Voodoo Doll. We were greeted by a pretty girl with bright blue hair and a small lip piercing. "Hi girls, shopping for yourselves?" The pretty blue haired girl asked. "Just for her, she needs a gown for homecoming, something spectacular, something that will impress and wow everyone!" Pansy gleamed. I had never been to a homecoming, Ilvermorny never had anything like that so I didn't have a clue what to wear. I sure had the figure for a beautiful dress but never got the opportunity to let that moment shine. "What colours and styles are you looking for?" The girl asked. "Something black, or maybe green, I'm not sure about the style though," I stated. The girl nodded and headed into the back of the shop. I  caught Pansy laughing in the corner of her eye. "What?" She asked. "Nothing, just black that's so you!" Pansy said still giggling.

The girl returned with three dresses at hand, two black and one green. "Try that first," Pansy said handing me the green dress. I already knew I wouldn't like it but I still went ahead anyway.

I placed on the green dress, sighing as it made me look like a bunch of Gillyweed. I walked out of the fitting room shaking my head. "Not a chance the colour makes me look like walking vomit!" I burst out laughing. This dress wasn't me at all, even though I was in Slytherin, the green did not compliment my figure or skin tone at all.

The second dress I didn't mind but I still didn't feel right. The only option was the last dress. Please Merlin. I went into the dressing room and put on the gown. I looked at myself and admired it's beauty. This was the dress I was looking for. With a black lace corset complimenting my torso, the rest of the dress was free flowing. It sparkled in the light with its glistening sequins. A slit on the right leg finished the dress into a beautiful master piece. It allowed me to show a some skin on my legs without feeling too naked. It was subtle, but I looked gorgeous. I stepped out into the main area of the shop leaving Pansy's jaw hanging on the floor. "Wow Aurelia you look beautiful," she gasped, "this is it, the dress you've been looking for, you sure will turn a few heads in that!" I was glowing and it wasn't even homecoming yet!

As we left the shop with a bag in hand I noticed a sweet shop called Honeydukes. I strolled in hoping to get something for Fred to say thanks. I picked up some caramel and sea salt fudge for him hoping he would like my little gift. As we left the shop back to Hogwarts we went. I was even more excited for homecoming now. I wonder what Draco would think of me dress? No. Stop Aurelia!
