TAEHYUNG'S POV
In my deep slumber, I patted my hand beside my side trying to grab Yn but opened my eyes in confusion as I found no one, the sheets were cold meaning she'd been out for a while. I stretched my muscles and went to the bathroom to wash up, I wore a white fluffy bath gown as my clothes were not in their best condition right now.
I walked out of the room to search for Yn and found her standing in the kitchen fumbling into one of the drawers. I quietly got behind her to check what she was doing, but my eyes widened, I grabbed both of her wrists tightly, stopping herself from continuing to harm herself anymore. Her shivering body stiffened, and the knife from her hand fell on the floor making a thud sound, I made her face me and checked her to find any other injuries but there were none other than the cuts on her wrists now.
She didn't look at me or say anything instead she continued to stare at my chest in front of her face, her body was colder than usual, and she was looking numb... I gently held her by the shoulders and dragged her to the couch over the living room, I noticed the mug kept on the coffee table and the TV was on.
I brought the first aid kit from the bathroom and took a seat beside her, I gulped looking at her hand covered with blood, I looked up at her lifeless face and wondered what made her do that. As far as I remember after her breakdown during the dance yesterday evening things got better between us, she didn't show any discomfort earlier, and even she said she was okay when I asked her whether she wanted to do it or not.
Pushing away all the questions at the back of my head for now, I start cleaning her wound, she didn't even flinch the whole time as I cleaned the wound. There were three long cuts on her wrist, thank god they were not deep as compared to the other one which she gave herself a few days back, I still remember she didn't wake up for a whole day after that.
I finished dressing up her wound, put the kit back in its place, and threw the used cotton and stuff into the bin. I sat beside her and studied her face, she was still in her world, I carefully asked,
"Do you want to sleep?"
"I miss the kids"
She replied still staring at the TV playing, I knew she wasn't paying any attention to it. She took a deep breath more like soothing herself and asked,
"Can we go back to the mansion?"
I frowned at her weird request but nodded eventually as I wanted her to feel okay now. She lifelessly stood up collected her phone and walked towards the entrance while I rushed into the room and hurriedly changed into the clothes I was wearing earlier not caring how dirty they were now, I grabbed my phone and wallet and almost ran to the parking lot.
While panting heavily I rushed towards Yn standing oddly calm in front of her car, as she noticed me she put the keys on the hood of the car and put herself in the passenger seat. I really want her to talk about whatever led her to this tonight but I decided to give her some space as it would be one of the wise decisions.
I get into the driver seat and turn on the engine, I look over at her and find her head resting on the window beside her and she is staring outside in the front. I sighed and started driving back to the mansion, no one spoke anything just the sound of the heater and the slow music playing on the radio could be heard during the whole ride.
When we reached the mansion it was past 5 in the morning already, as expected everyone was still asleep other than a few of the guards and maids who were getting ready for the day. As I parked the car in the front yard Yn walked out of the car and followed me closely behind her. I frowned as she headed towards the kid's room instead of ours, before she could open the door I held her wrist gently, she sighed at me and while staring at my hand holding hers she spoke,
"I want to be alone for a while"
"No"
I spoke immediately, I couldn't risk leaving her all. alone by herself not after she harmed herself just a few hours ago. She removed my hand from her still not looking at me making me more confused she spoke,
"I promise I won't do anything like that again"
I hesitated for a minute still resisting to let her be alone but at last, decided to give her some space as she might need it, she mumbled a thank you and locked herself inside the kid's room. I stood there for a few minutes already regretting letting her be alone like this but I couldn't do anything now, I sighed at myself and entered my room. My body was too tired already as I slept for only an hour I guess, I changed into my nightwear and decided to get into bed hoping Yn would be alright when I woke up.
TIME SKIP
I groaned in deep slumber as a phone call interrupted me, without looking at the screen, eyes closed I picked up the call and spoke,
"Hello"
"Good morning sir"
I frowned as I heard the impulsive voice of Du-sik, I rubbed my eyes open adjusting to the sunlight, and asked him,
"What happened?"
"Sir Mr.Jung will be here in an hour and Yn ma'am is still not here"
I checked the time on my phone, it was 11 in the morning, I yawned and told him,
"I'll be there"
"Okay sir"
He replied and I declined the call. I looked around and found no one in the room, I got up from the bed and went to the washroom to get ready for the day. After taking a cold shower I put on my formal suit as usual and headed outside, my step halted as I saw the kids' room door open, not completely tho. I frowned and walked into the room, a smile kissed my lips as I saw YN sleeping peacefully between both of the kids, her arms were wrapped around the waist of both of the kids while both of them were hugging her from the side. I had no idea when they came back or when YN unlocked the door, but my worry vanished away as I saw her with the kids, I knew as long as she was beside the kids she wouldn't do anything to herself.
After covering them with the duvet properly I headed downstairs to find Grandma and Dad talking about something, they both stopped as they saw me. Grandma smiled at me and greeted me,
"Good Morning son"
"Good Morning, Grandma"
"Good Morning, Dad"
I greeted both of them, Dad replied to me with a genuine smile while Grandma forced me to eat breakfast or brunch before leaving for the office.
I sighed as I entered the office followed by Du-sik and Sara, Sara handed me the file for today's meeting while Du-sik started to ask,
"Sir, where is Yn ma'am?"
"She is not feeling well today "
I replied while reading the file, they both went out of the office without asking anything else. Today is the most important meeting for our company as Mr.Jung and his uncle Mr.Kang, both CEOs of multinational companies are going to collaborate with us. Mr. Jung or Hobi Hyung, I have known him for years as we collaborated earlier when I was in Singapore but I haven't met Mr. Kang yet.
I know this is a very important meeting for YN as she handled this company for years and put her best into making our company the country's best but after last night I don't want her to take the stress anymore. I really have no idea why she did that, it was out of nowhere, and I can not guess the actual reason behind it but I want to know what led her to take that step last night, what is hurting her again?
The chain of my thoughts broke with a knock on the door, I sighed to myself and ordered,
"Come in"
Sara stepped inside and spoke,
"Mr.Jung is here"
She went out as I nodded. I stood up from my chair and fixed my clothes, trying to look more representable as because of lack of sleep I might be looking like a duck for sure. The door opened revealing a bright Hobi Hyung, a smile automatically spread on my face as I looked at his sunshine self. I walk towards him only to get embraced by him in a friendly hug, Hyung has always been an elder brother figure of mine apart from our profession we are close to each other.
Hyung broke the hug and greeted me,
"Hello there my Taehyungie"
I chuckled and replied,
"Nice to see you too Hyung"
He chuckled with me as we headed towards the couch, he sat across from me as I ordered some coffee for him. He looked at me and I asked,
"How are you doing?"
"I'm doing great but you seem a little off than usual "
I sighed tiredly and apologized,
"Sorry Hyung, I barely slept last night"
"Why what happened?"
He asked concerning, I pouted and replied,
"It's a long story "
"Well we can have lunch together "
While smiling I nodded. He smiled and spoke,
"I met Sunmi last weekend by the way"
"And she was not looking okay"
I frowned immediately feeling genuinely worried as every time I asked her she always said that she okay, I looked at him and asked,
"What do you mean, Hyung?"
"I don't know, she was looking just tired and pale"
"Maybe she is overworking again "
I replied hoping it to be the only real reason as I didn't want anything bad to happen to her. He nodded and while looking at his watch he spoke,
"Oh I forgot to tell you"
"Mr Kang might get an hour late"
"He told me to attend the meeting on his behalf"
"Although he'll be here by the end of the meeting most probably"
"Okay no problem"
I replied and asked Du-sik to prepare for the meeting as soon as possible. After chatting for a while we both attended the meeting, the boy from yesterday represented our plan and gladly Hyung seemed to like it as he has been always picky about his company's decisions maybe that's the reason behind his success.
After the successful meeting, we both headed back to my office Hyung received a phone call from Mr Kang that he was almost here. While sitting on the couch we were discussing business but then the gate of my office flew open revealing Yn, as she entered she spoke in a hurry,
"I'm sorry for being late"
But her steps halted as soon as her eyes fell on Hyung, her eyes widened making me confused as Hyung reciprocated her expression. Do they know each other? That was the very first question that came into my head followed by another one, how?
Hyung stood up from the couch and spoke,
"Yn"
"Oppa"
YN spoke, and both of them stared at each other leaving me clueless about the side. Hyung rushed to her and embraced her in a bone-cracking hug while Yn stood there still shocked and unsure about what to do next. After almost a minute of awkward silence, Hyung broke the hug and held Yn by her shoulders, frantically observing her he asked,
"How are you doing my little one?"
