Going to the argument that she has a selected group of people to talk to. Sherbet Cookie for example. Like, I kind of got the idea that she was spending all day with her sheep, and then visiting sherbet cookie, and being with sheep again - that's how I imagine her days going by.
I'm not saying that by that she doesn't like other people, she does, but she is kind of shy near them.
