Once they were on the dancefloor he held onto her hip tightly as he looked down at the young brunette female. "This event is for you...as a thank you for putting up with me. I want to do something to help you out, so after this I want to provide for you since you've done the same for me when we were younger."

"I'm a big girl I can take care of myself."

"I'm not just saying what I am out of the blue-I know that you can take care of yourself. You've shown me that you are well enough without others. But I want to give back to you for all of those years I was a pain in your side, and I'm not asking-I'm telling you. All I need from you is the consent from you to be beside you forever. It's obvious that I'm never going back to my time-so why not live my life here with you?"

Serena looked up at him stunned before she looked down flustered hearing him speak. She didn't think that he'd place out there that he was stuck in the place he was. The fact that he actually want to spend his time with her of all people, it made her realize just how special she was to him. The words he said as a teenager came back to her and made her realize they weren't empty words-He meant them at the time. As much as she didn't like that he had left her for so long, she wanted to be able to see if he was a man of his word now that he was older. "I...I guess if that's your stance..." She started to say before she looked up at him. "S-Sure..I...I'd like that Ciel."

He smiled and kissed her on the cheek softly. "thank you for not getting overly angry at me Serena. Now shall we enjoy tonight together?"

She nodded her head happily. "Y-Yeah...S-Sure."

After the dance, Ciel took her away from the public eye into a room where they could speak to one another and finally catch up with what the other has been doing. While Serena was talking about everything she had to go through, she mentioned the death of her father and how it happened. Ciel knew just how close she was to her father and was there to comfort her knowing that she probably didn't have anyone to comfort her in her time of need.

"Is that why you came back to New York?"

Serena nodded her head. "Mhm...I...I didn't want to be alone anymore. I can't live in PA without the memories of my papa. I...I don't want to deal with those memories."

"I get that, I can't blame you for wanting to start anew without your father's memories haunting you. He was a smart and honest man, I can't even fathom the amount of pain you must be in right now because of his death."

Serena hugged herself as she shut her eyes trying to contain herself. "It's been hard, I know why my father died. Ever since you left out back here to New York, Ian's family has been up my father's ass to have Lucas and I to be back together. My father wasn't having it and basically bitched at the elder couple for trying to get me to be with a toxic liar. Ian was on my side which I was thankful for and I think...I think Lucas caught my father off guard. From what I was told by one of my father's co-workers that were friends with him, my father was trying to deescalate the situation when Lucas had came out with his fathers gun and threatened to use it on my father if he didn't allow him to marry me. My father said 'no' to him and well got hit in the chest more than a few times."

"Did that bastard get jailed?"

"Yes, as did his parents. Ian had told me at my fathers funeral that his parents and elder brother was in jail for what happened to my father. So...at least they are where they belong." Serena said sadly as she opened her eyes, she saw that Ciel was rather close to her "C-Ciel...W-why...Why are you so close to me?"
