you stole my grandma
you who swore to protect
everybody
poor or weak

you stole unlimited donuts
the best worldwide
and making them
together
whenever we feel like it

you stole midnight drawing sessions
after a terrifying movie
cause if we couldn't sleep
she would stay up all night
to comfort us and help us fall asleep

you stole my holidays
just chilling around
eating and drinking
not moving  an inch

you stole my schnitzel
unique as it is
never to touch again
never to replicate
and never to eat

you stole my grandma
you who should help
the ill and weak

you stole human rights
to live a life in freedom
to walk around and meet people
easily and free

you stole the kindness
in person
always smiling
never showing
how much she really worries
about you, about us, about him and about her
but never about herself

you stole my faith
in humanity
to take a life in such a hurry
not thinking about the vow you made

she only spent one night with you
but that's all you needed
to end the journey for her
and with it for everybody missing her

you stole memories
which would have been
scenes to laugh
to cry and spend time together

you stole the sight
of a baby growing up
a young woman graduating
and another one bringing home victory

she only came to you for help
fighting for these things
for years and years
she was the brightest of the stars

you stole her joy
her power to curiosity
to live a life full of risks
and  many adventures

she faced the threat so well
always kept her shield up
not trembling an inch

you stole her dignity
from a strong woman
who was fierce and wonderful

you stole a mother,
a daughter,
a wife,
a grandma,
a friend

you broke many many hearts
and you will never know
cause you never cared
