Chapter-3

"Are you alright miss?" Kioko asked the woman next to her with a soft and caring voice as she thought 'I think she might be scared of flying, but it's best not to make any assumptions.'

The young woman, with a scared and almost inaudible voice, replied, "Um...I am sorry if um...I have.... disturbed you I....-" Without a moment's hesitation Kioko held the woman's hand with a reassuring look in her eyes and spoke, "No miss, you haven't disturbed me in the least, I couldn't help but notice you seemed scared about something, we could talk about it if you don't mind sharing."

"I see... Sheesh well that is a relief, thank you for that! the thing is I usually have one of my family members come with me during the flight......but they left early because of some business-related stuff, and I had to stay back because of my college assignment which was only half completed at the time, but well my sister did ask me if she should come and pick me up.... but I didn't wanna bother her as she had a lot on her plate...." Kioko was startled by the sudden and unexpected exposition given by the women. 

'I didn't expect her to tell me anything... I thought she was an introvert and wouldn't tell me much but I should keep in mind to never judge a book by its cover.' Kioko came back from her astonishment and remembered that they hadn't been introduced to each other. "I understand what you are feeling, I will gladly give you company if that makes you feel better! By the way, we don't even know each other's names yet! Well, my name is Kioko, but you can call me whatever you feel like!" 

The young woman with an upbeat and embarrassed tone said, "Geez I forgot about that, shit where are my manners, anyways my name is Emiko, you can just call me Emi, well is that what my friends call me anyways. Wait a second, now that I think about it, our names kinda rhyme! Then I will call Kio! Are you okay with that? you don't mind, right? As you do seem a bit older than me"

Kio said with a hint of playfulness, "Hey, I am not that old, I am just at the ripe age of twenty-three kid" Emi replied aggressively with a pout on her face, "if you aren't old that also means I am not a kid, I am twenty-one, therefore a full-fledged adult!" Both of them enjoyed each other's company for the rest of the flight, they talked about random topics and found that they had common interests in the type of hobbies they have and the type of media they consumed, which led to them being so focused on that topic they forgot they were even in a flight.

As they were in their own world, the voice of the announcement startled both of them as they realized the plane had landed. They looked at each other with a smile that was only shared between those who had a bond that lasted more than a millennium. As they left the flight and went to the terminal to pick up their luggage, Kioko called Akane, remembering her words to call her when she reached. Kioko waited for Emiko to pick up her luggage and both left together.

When they reached the exit Kioko heard a familiar voice call out to her, "Kioko! Over here!" when she turned to the direction the voice was heard, she saw an elegant and gorgeous woman. She realized that it was her aunt's friend Akane, staring at her she thought 'I didn't know Aunty was friends with supermodels! Holyshit, the woman is drop-dead gorgeous, I can stare at her for hours'. 

While Kioko was occupied with her thoughts, continuing to stare at Akane's beauty awestruck, she was interrupted, "Kio, you alright bro.....? You look like a simp dude! Get it together and stop making weird faces" Kioko looked at Emiko with a glare, "Dude, first of all, I am not a simp, and second of all, I am not making any weird faces! I just didn't expect my aunt would know someone who looked like a supermodel, I was just surprised! That is all there is to it"

"Yeah, whatever bro, keep lying to yoursel-" Before Emiko could continue teasing Kioko, she heard her chauffeur call out to her, "Ma'am, it's time to leave, your brother and sister are waiting for your arrival, Something urgent has come up!" Emiko replied, "Oh give me just a moment I will be there!" Emiko looked at Kioko with a look of sadness and spoke, "It looks like it's time to part ways......I never thought coming alone would allow me to meet a bro like you! I hope we can catch up later, Bye Kio!!!" Kioko replied, "Me too bro, I never thought that I would make a friend! That too a bro like you!"

After their farewell, Kioko came to a sudden realization while looking at her phone, flabbergasted and exclaimed, "SHIT! How are we gonna meet up if we don't even have each other's contact information" Kioko facepalmed while Akane found the whole fiasco amusing, Akane said to Kioko with a reassuring smile, "Well if you are meant to be friends, then faith might make you both meet eventually!"

Akane had a passing thought while trying to hold back her laughter 'These kids are something else, I guess they didn't know I was listening to their conversation. Oh well Kioko seemed to have forgotten about it and I don't want her to become embarrassed, it would be best if I forgot that I ever heard that convo!'

"By the way Kioko, you will be staying at my place for some time, while you find a suitable and good place for yourself!" Akane said to Kioko. Kioko was in shock, but it didn't last long knowing how anxious her aunt was. "I see, well then I will be in your care!" Akane was pretty surprised that Kioko didn't refute or get angry at what she said, so she smiled inwardly and thought, 'You have raised an amazing girl Chihiro!'

 Akane then questioned Kioko, "So what are your plans Kioko?" Kioko answered in an excited tone, "Well, let's see...I have already picked a few places that I like and the rent is also reasonable, I just need to check it out and see what is most convenient for me! This will probably take about a week if things go according to plan, then I will have 2 weeks left to settle in before I begin my work!" Then after they ended their conversation, they went to Akane's home and rested for the day.

In the following week, Kioko finds a suitable place while staying with Akane. The apartment complex is near Akane's place and is also near Kioko's new office. She spent the next week finding suitable furniture and decor for her place. Even if Kioko was busy moving in, she always remembered to call Chihiro at least twice a day, Now it is the last week till the start of her office life! What may await our dearest Kioko? We shall see.......
