Fairen looked sad for a minute, probably thinking of Gerel, but then got up and licked Destyn's ear as a 'welcome back'.

Fairen then turned to Jade, barking, "I suppose we can't kill him as of now?"

"I'll tell you what," Jade whistled back, "You know where my dungeon is, if I don't come for him within a moon, do whatever you like to him."

There were yips of excitement from some of the wolves, especially Destyn.

As much as she loved visiting her home, Jade knew she had to get back to the palace to protect the Prince and King from the Concorer's Guild.

She dashed off in the direction of the gates to this valley. Once there, she made a giant leap and pearched on top of one of the spaces between the spikes. A few shreds of mist swirled through the fence and hid her from the view of the guards.

When Jade was sure the coast was clear, she hopped down off the fence and started sprinting at her top speed toward the castle. She slowed down a bit as she reached the city.

In her mind she thought about all of the obstacles in her way. The town completely surrounded the castle. The castle walls could be jumped over. She would get in with the secret passages and go find the King and Prince as quickly as possible. They would be protected by plenty of guards.

Jade shook her head. They weren't the brightest if they thought she would harm the Royals.

Anyway, there were a few ways to do this. She needed some practice with a few of her techniques, one of the concealment spells the Goddess Crystal had given her was an invisibility spell, but she hadn't used it in two centuries.

"Here goes." she said quietly, before activating the small charm on her left sleeve. She had to keep fueling it with her magic as she got used to the feeling of light passing through her. Looking down at her transparent hand, it was clear the spell had worked.

She quickly took off, twisting through the townspeople and making sure she didn't touch anyone.

Thankfully, she made it through easily and reached the lower part of the wall that surrounded the castle. She leapt up and hooked her fingers over the edge before flipping up to stand. A guard patrol came into view right. after she landed inside the walls, making her duck instinctively.

One guard looked her way and seemed to meet her gaze briefly. Jade held her breath and didn't move until the entire patrol disappeared behind a jutting corner.

She ran in the opposite direction to get to the secret entrance, pushed open the carefully oiled door, and ran inside the castle.
