"Welcome again little one, it's my pleasure to have you."
"It's nice to see you again too, Khan."
I made the trip to Konoha earlier in the day. Even though I made the contract with Khan I was still skeptical that it would work, but it did. As soon as i wanted to go there i had this weird sense that filled my mind and i was able to pinpoint the exact location. I wonder if this is how Lion gets from places or maybe it's just his animal instincts. Khan and I were laying on hammocks suspended in the trees of the village.
"Where's your friend, was he busy today?"
"Oh he's still at the school, I'm the only one who came back."
"Ah, different paths I see."
"How long have you been chief?"
"Maybe a hundred years or so."
"Wow that's so long but you look so young! Do beastmen usually live that long?"
"Haha i appreciate the flattery and yes we have a longer lifespan than normal humans. I've been with my people for a long time and things weren't always this peaceful."
"You can do so much more in your lifetime."
"And yet it still feels short for some reason."
"You think so?"
"I feel like whatever amount of time I may be given, perhaps it would never be enough."
"You said things weren't peaceful. Were there a bunch of fights and battles back in your day?"
He nodded.
"Your people and I haven't always seen eye to eye. There used to be conflicts just because we looked differently, but in truth we are one and the same."
"That's stupid that people would do that to you guys."
"Yes indeed. A group of my people moved here deep into the forest to be unbothered by the common folk. Over many years we've grown to prefer the isolated forests among ourselves. Times have changed and the people have changed. We are more welcomed in society so one day I'll take a trip outside our little village."
"Yeah and we can eat tons of food!"
"Hahaha of course we can little one."
"So how does that contract you made with me work? I learned about contracts in school, but how'd you make me remember a place?"
"Contracts are very complicated and dangerous as you may know. What I did was impart my memory of this place onto you in the form of a contract."
My head was spinning.
"Haha i can see you dont understand me, but don't worry too much about the details just know contracts are dangerous."
"What would happen if i broke this contract you gave me-wait how would i even break this one it's just remembering?"
"You could force yourself not to remember somehow or remove the energy I implanted on you. Something as small as remembering a place would probably result in some cuts and bruises on you."
"Oh okay, I understand now. Thank you for that."
"Of course little one and next time you come I'll prepare a giant feast for you and your friend!"
"Hehehe, I do love a feast."
We laid in those hammocks for the rest of the day until it was time for me to return home.
