𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 37: All on me

'Cause when it all comes crashin' down on me, yeah
And when the world turn they back, it's up to me, yeah
All my flaws and sins, that's all they see, yeah
And when it all falls down, it's all on me
It's all on me
It's all on me

Omniscient

His body leant up against the couch it sunk into, allowing the smoke to roll down his throat after the well needed session he'd had with the woman who sat across from him. Jaileen just watched, her arms hugged around her legs to stare at the man who hadn't said much since he pulled up to her house in the late hours of the evening.

"Are you ready to tell me what's going on?" She spoke softly to her boyfriend, watching as his lips parted to exhale a thick cloud of smoke up towards the ceiling. The grayness of the cloud nearly blending in with the prominent, bold color of his gray eyes.

"No." He spoke dully, fluttering his eyes closed to allow his high to gradually consume him.

Rolling her eyes, Jaileen only took a deep breath as she stood to her feet. As the days went on, she tried harder and harder to master having patience with him, and understanding that the way he acted also came with the freshness and spontaneous nature of their relationship.

He went from being so adamant that she'd never move past being just a sexual partner for him, to suddenly becoming his girlfriend. Although most of the time, it didn't even feel like such. In the back of her mind she wanted to leave, boosted herself up in attempts to do such, yet it always came crashing down whenever he was back in her presence.

Nobody that she knew had any idea she was in a relationship, because she told no one around her. Simply because she was embarrassed, more so that she put up with the things he dished her over anything else. Her feelings were genuine, but it seemed like she questioned his every day. And it hurt even worse considering he was capable of love, he was in love with another woman. But she knew in the back of her mind he'd never have those same feelings towards her.

The sound of her footsteps forced Syre's eyes to pop open. He quickly reached out to grasp her arm in his hold before she could get too far, his grip immediately pulling her back until she stood directly in front of him looking annoyed.

"You always doing too much man, chill." He mumbled, reaching out so both of his hands gripped her waist. Jaileen allowed for her body to move beyond her mind, eventually finding home in a straddling position atop him.

Her nostrils filled with the strong aroma of the blunt that burned, waves of smoke dancing a rhythm up and past both of their faces. Gliding right through the small gap that separated their bodies.
