The twenty four hour dance contest was here once again.

But instead of doing the music, like Taylor usually forces me to. I'm dancing this year. Me and Tessa.

I could've asked Jess but I knew what his answer was going to be.

A resounding no.

"You and Jess friendly again?" I asked Tessa.

"I apologised," she muttered. "And made several Walmart jokes."

"Of course," I rolled my eyes. "At least your pinkeye is gone," she laughed, stealing one of my bacon and cheese fries.

"Thank God," I sighed. "So, we're wearing flats, I hope," Tessa sighed. "What's the plan?"

"Beat Kirk," I grumbled. "He's won too many times, each year Mom tries to beat him but two heads are better than one."

"How many Red Bulls will I smuggle in?" Tessa asked me. "A lot," I chuckled then my face went white. "What if we have to pee?"

"Wear a diaper?" Tessa suggested.

I couldn't tell whether or not she was kidding.

"This chicken is amazing Mom," Mom told Grandma at Friday Night Dinner. "Really great."

"You're in a good mood Lorelai," Grandma pointed out. "I found a dance partner," Mom announced.

"You did?" me and Rory asked her in unison. "A good one, Mom smirked.

"Dance partner?" Grandma frowned. "Our town is having a twenty four hour dance marathon this weekend and the people left standing get a huge trophy," I explained.

"It is very big," Rory agreed with me. "I got Stanley Appleman, he's new," Mom told us.

Her phone began ringing and she left the room. "Lorelai! I told you not to have that thing on at the dinner table!" Grandma yelled after her.

Mom came back, in a pouty mood. "He bailed," she sighed.

"Aw, I'm sorry," I mumbled. "There's always someone else," Rory pointed out. "Here, have some more chicken," Grandma gave Mom the plate.

"What's the plan?" Rory asked me. "A lot of caffeine," I told her. "I'm going to drink so much caffeine that it'd even make the Hulk hyper."

"She's going to be bouncing off the walls," Andrea grimaced. "How long even is this thing?"

"Twenty four hours of dancing," I told her

"Oh haha," Andrea rolled her eyes at me. "She's not joking," Rory told her.

"What?!" Andrea freaked out.

I nodded vigourously. "I'm wearing flats and a green 40s style dress, Tessa's wearing a pink one."

"But what if you need caffeination or food or someone to take over if you guys need to pee?" Andrea asked me. "That's where Jess comes in," I told her.

"You convinced him?" Rory laughed. "I can be very persuasive," I told her.

"Let me guess, you agreed to let him choose the next movie for date night?" Andrea smirked. I slumped down, sadly. "Yeah....the next three dates and I'm not allowed to protest."

"That'll be hell," Rory teased me. "The real question is will it be worth it?"

"Only if Kirk the Smug Bastard doesn't win," I sighed.
