The drive

I pace back and forth waiting for him to show up, my frustration was really reaching a boiling point. I tap my foot as the minutes felt like they were stretching into hours, and my patience was seriously thinning by the second.

I grow way too impatient waiting for him to show up.

It's getting cold out here, where are you?
I text him.

A black, rather large car that seems to be a Range Rover pulls up, and the black tinted window rolls down, revealing the young man, running his fingers through his black wolf cut, sitting in the driver's seat. He looks over the lens of his glasses sternly.

"Right here, now get in before I drive away." He replies impatiently, groaning.

While entering his car he takes one quick look at my shoes, noticing the filth I picked up earlier on. He hurriedly told me to not get 'his baby' dirty.

"Your baby," I scoff, rolling my eyes. "I'll take precious care of her." I reply mockingly.

The car roars to life as Elijah starts up the engine and quickly shifts gears. Keeping his eyes glued to the road, he avoids any distractions, his foot keeping a steady speed.

I take a deep breath, feeling the crisp autumn air coming through the open windows.
''You're quite a good driver,'' I finally admit, looking out of the window.

Elijah takes a quick glance over at me, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips. ''A compliment from you? I'm shocked.'' His tone laced with sarcasm as he laughed.

I roll my eyes, unable to hold back a laugh. ''Oh, shut up.''

The car cuts through the air, and as he drives past the colourful orange and amber trees, I can't help but let go of all my worries; especially that project. Leaves blow in the frigid wind, and I lose any sense of time or surroundings.

Suddenly, Elijah's voice breaks through my trance. ''We're here.''

I blink, coming back to reality. We've finally arrived.
