Chapter 10

It's the day after the preseason game Hailey came to . Afterwards she spent the night at my house . We watched her brother and my friend Quinn's game then a few episodes of grey's anatomy before falling asleep cuddling in my theater room.

When we woke up this morning we went to breakfast before I dropped her off at the bakery for work . I had a few errands to run but around one in the afternoon I headed back to the bakery with lunch for us to eat together up in her office .

After a quick lunch due to the amount of cake orders she needed to complete i headed back to my house to do laundry and talk to my sister on our weekly calls . We caught up on her life at college in Virginia then she began to tease me about being in love with Hailey and not doing anything about it .

Not that I've admitted it out loud but those jokes are staring to not be jokes . Those minuscule feelings I had a few weeks ago when Hailey and I reunited , yeah they didn't go away in-fact they got worse and know I'm in love with my bestfriend who for sure does not feel the same .

Fuck I'm screwed I don't know what I'm gonna do if she starts dating someone just the idea of that cause a sharp pain in my chest . Since reuniting a few weeks ago we have spent most of that time together . I love spending every moment I can with her .

Hailey has changed a lot in the years we spent apart . She's matured and became a strong independent and confident woman . Who wouldn't be in love with her on top of that she absolutely beautiful even my heart skips a little when I see her .

I've tried so hard to stop my self from checking her out or just outright staring at her so she and no one else notices. I guess I'm terrible at it since all my teammates know I'm in love with her . I tried denying it when they started saying it but it was no use .

I even talked to my mom . I had admitted to having some feelings for Hailey just left out the being hopelessly in love with her part . Mom told me to just tell her , make a move but I just can't do that I don't want to lose her she's my favorite person in the whole world I already lost so many years with her for stupid reasons I can't lose her again.

Anyway I'm currently sitting on Haileys couch in her glam room as gets ready for the concert we're going to tonight. Last night after the game my teammate gave me the tickets to this concert cause his wife got sick and can't go so he offered them to me and Hailey and we accepted.

Hails wanted to go to this concert but it sold out before she could get tickets . So she is very happy with these turn of events . I've spent the last half hour watching my little mouse get ready with a glass of wine and some music playing in the background.

A few minutes later Haileys all finished and out of the bathroom from changing and were off to the elevator. I got a notification a few moments ago that our Uber is ready to take us to dinner before the concert. We decided to go eat at Ariete a mix of homestyle Cuban cooking and contemporary fine dining.

On the Uber ride over Hailey starts an animated conversation with the Uber driver . She truly is one of the friendliest people I have ever met it's probably why she had so many regulars at her bakery oh and also how great everything tastes .

A half hour later Hailey and I are sitting at our table having a drink after putting in our orders . " poppy was asking if any of you're teammates are single , I'm pretty sure she's addicted to hockey after going to the game with me ." I laugh before telling her.

" I think Mackies single " she shakes her head at me " no Mackie is just a baby , Poppy usually tends to dates some one , two to three years older than her . " " I don't think my teammates are her type plus most are in serious relationships or married . "

Hailey giggled before asking me " remember our wedding " I laugh at the memory that has become one of my favorites. " of course you were so sassy that day didn't even ask me to marry you , just asked my dad for my hand in marriage and moved on with you're wedding plans ." Hailey just laughs at me .

Dinner was great I ended up having Foie Gras . Hailey and I shared a dessert before I payed the bill and ordered a Uber to take us to the concert . Hailey tried to fight me on splitting the bill but I just ignored her .

We just arrived at the concert venue. Hailey and I walk up to the security check holding hands . She's so small I don't want to loose her in a crowd. Definitely no other reason I would want to hold her hand just safety reasons .

Hailey and I spent most of the concert with a least one of us touching the other either holding hands or dancing closely or just being affectionate. It's times like these I think she could possibly have feelings for me also but then i remember we were like this when we were younger .

After the concert we Uber back to her apartment for a sleepover. During the Uber ride my little mouse fell asleep so when we arrived instead of waking her up i carry her upstairs towards her apartment.

I use the key she gave to me a couple weeks ago to open the door . Haileys cats greet us at the door before running off to bed probably to go back to sleep . I lock the door and head off towards hails bedroom . Tonight was a good night . We'll every night with her is a good night .
