Tate wanted to get to know his little sister Rachel since he offered to help Brady gain custody of his sister in hopes that if he succeeds then maybe his father will be a little more lenient in his punishment working at the Brady Pub. And he figured out just how to do it! Kristen would unknowingly help him with his plan with her little slip-up of calling him 'Christopher'.
That's when he went to his father and asked him why Kristen called him 'Christopher' and Brady gave Tate the details of his birth.
"Thanks, Dad," Tate told him, "You don't know how much that helps."
So upon heading over to the DiMera manse, Tate asked Kristen who answered the front door if he could spend some time with his sister.
So Kristen showed Tate to the living room where Rachel was doing her studies.
"Hey, little sis," Tate said, hugging her. "How have you been faring?"
"Who are you?" Rachel asked the older boy.
"Your mother didn't tell you that you have an older brother?"
"Huh, I have a big brother?"
"Yeah, Rachel, me, I'm Tate, your half-brother," Tate mused, "Or, would that be a brother?"
"What do you mean?" Rachel demanded.
"Well, didn't your mommy tell you how I was born?"
"Not since I never knew I had a big brother?"
"Well, it's a doozy of a story," Tate told her. "Care to take a seat while I tell you?"
Tate gives a stunned Rachel the scoop on how Kristen stole his mother's embryo out of her womb and had it implanted into her, thus Rachel's mommy gave birth to him.
"I don't believe you?" Rachel shot back, "My mommy wouldn't do something like that?!"
"Oh, you think I'm lying?" Tate stood his ground. "Go and ask her!"
"I think I will," Rachel said heading to find Kristen, who came in to hear what all the fighting was.
"Mommy, this guy says that he's my brother?"
"Yes, Rachel, I'm afraid he is," Kristen explained. "He's your daddy and Theresa Donovan's son."
"But he also said that you gave birth to him?" Rachel questioned a stunned Kristen.

"Is that what you came to do, Tate?" Kristen accused. "Turn my daughter against me?"
"Hey, I only told her the truth and if you hadn't made the slip of calling me 'Christopher', it would have never happened!" Tate pointed out.
"So, it is true, mommy?" Rachel called her mother out. "You did steal his mother's embryo and have it implanted into you!"
Then Rachel ran upstairs to her room.
Tate walked out of the DiMera manse with a smile on his face. Now that he's managed to estrange Rachel from her mommy and help his dad with his custody, maybe his dad will be a little more lenient on him.
