SOFS: Ice Chapter 7 - A Fragile Hope

Fun Fact: Katarina being an Elemental Master of Form symbolizes how well she is able to hide behind a mask and how well she can choose to deceive people. 

Her hiding behind a mask reflects how she can fake her emotions around others when she's at an all-time low, which could mean she isn't comfortable telling her friends about how she actually feels. (She's working on it, though). 

Her Elemental Power helps her deceive people very well thanks to Keres, just by observing someone and copying every aspect of that person, which helps her fool others perfectly; She also uses her powers to change some parts of herself to fool others, too. Sometimes, she likes to use her powers to prank her friends. 

Katarina wakes up a few hours later. She slowly lifts herself up. She looks around. She was in a cell, and there were cell bars at the cell door. She tries to use her powers, but it was useless. She looks down at her wrists, which were cuffed with ice. 

"Lloyd? Lloyd!" She calls out to him.

"Sis?!" Lloyd responds. He breathes a sigh of relief. "Thank the Master you're okay."

"Where are we?"

"At the Ice Emperor's Castle. I think that dragon brought us here. And I just found out something about the Ice Emperor. He's Zane." He explains. 

She furrows her eyebrows, trying to process all this new information. "What? But how?"

"He was holding the Scroll of Forbidden Spinjitzu when he got here. It somehow corrupted him, made him forget about us."

She slowly nods. "Okay, makes sense. We just got to get the scroll away from him and he'll snap out of it. No problem. But first, we gotta get these chains off. Good thing Keres can help with that."

Suddenly, another voice joins in. "Are you okay, my friends?"

Lloyd and Katarina were surprised by the third voice in the dungeons. Lloyd was the first ot respond to his question. "Yes, we are. Who are you?"

"A prisoner, like you two. What are your names?" The voice asks. 

"Lloyd."

"Katarina."

"Welcome to the Ice Emperor's dungeon, Lloyd and Katarina. I am Kataru." Kataru says. Lloyd and Katarina's eyes widen at the name. 

Kataru was Akita's twin brother, the older twin to be exact, and they both received their animals forms the same day on their Choosening. He was taken away by the dragon. That must be why Akita wanted revenge, for what Zane did to the Formlings and her brother. 

"Kataru?! Akita's older twin brother?! The bear?!" Katarina exclaims, and moves towards the bars of her cell door. 

Inside his cell, Kataru stands up and moves towards his cell door. From across his cell, he could see Katarina. "How do you know that?"

"She told us," Lloyd explains from his cell. Kataru looks to his left. "She told us all about you."

Kataru, not quite believing their words, shakes his head. "My sister is gone. She was frozen, along with the rest of my people by the Emperor's ice dragon."

"No. No, she's alive! We came across the ice together." Lloyd explains. 

After a moment of silence, Kataru says firmly, "Do you swear it? Do you swear she is alive?"

Lloyd and Katarina nod in unison. "Yes! She's alive!"

"Actually, she thought you were dead. She thought the dragon took you." Katarina says.
