Long lost friend

Y/n's POV
After me and Jeremy finally made it official we had spent the rest of the summer together honestly things were going great in our relationship though we didn't tell anyone yet though, we decided we just wanted to wait a bit. Tomorrow was the first day of our Junior year, Jeremy had been upset with Abby the past few days since she'd told him he wouldn't have to go to school but after a lot of thinking and some talking with Mr.Bradford she reconsidered it and well when he found out he was beyond pissed. I remember that night he snuck into my room, I let him rant all he wanted and eventually he tuckered himself out, when he fell asleep I went to call Abby to let him know he would be spending the night. Yesterday me and Jeremy were on the phone and planned to meet up before school so we could walk together, although he wasn't nervous about school I kind of was. My friends don't know about me Jeremy dating either. Well I would've told Johnny but I'd only seen him very few time since everyone was busy this whole summer the people I'd mostly talk to that wasn't family was Jeremy and Chooch, yes I'd still write to Chooch I mean he was still my best friend and I promised him I'd to write to him though it was hard, I eventually told him me and Jeremy were together. He seemed supportive through the letter which I appreciated. Of course he still complains about his school and all the punishments he gets for him and his friends pulling pranks on the Principle or "Liceman", we always give each other our life updates he also keeps up with the other guys to. Frank is doing pretty well working with his dad in the real estate business, Daniel's been practicing for this karate tournament and he's been getting pretty "friendly" with this girl named Ali, and Johnny finally made it official with his crush Ponyboy, we've all been super supportive of this. Wow now I can't remember the last time we all hung out together. I miss those days, wandering around town, going to our usual spot, all of hanging out at Chooch's house. Maybe we can all get together again when Christmas rolls around, when Chooch gets to come home. My thoughts were then interrupted by a my aunt Maddy yelling my name.

"Y/n! Jeremy's on the phone!" I immediately got up.
"Coming!" I went running to the phone in the hall. She giggled as she handed me the phone and left.
"Hey Jeremy!"
"Hi! I was wondering if we could meet up? Like right now?"
"Sure yeah but why all the sudden?"
"I just wanna see you, I know I'll get to see you tomorrow but I miss you." It warmed my heart to hear him say that.
"Ok where do you wanna meet?"
"Um how about the pond near the old drug store?"
"Ok I'll meet you in 5." With that I hung up. Luckily I really didn't have to do much to get ready. After I finding an outfit I ran out the door and ran over to the pond. Though I got there on time Jeremy was already there waiting for me.
"Gosh did you run here to?" I said sitting down beside him on the bench. He chuckled.
"No, I walked. But obviously you did." He handed me a water.
"I wanted to come feed the ducks here to while we're here." He took out a little bag filled with bread. He's so sweet isn't he. Though something about his face didn't seem right. He went to sit on the grass.
"Is something wrong Jeremy?" He wouldn't face, just kept on feeding the ducks.
"No everything's fine." Of course I didn't by this. I went and sat next to him and wrapped my arm around his.
"Just tell me what's wrong, maybe there's a solution to whatever is happening." He stopped.
"Well it's not that serious I'm just a little worried about school that's all." He kept his head down while he fidgeted with the bread in his hands.
"What is it about school that's worrying you?"
"What if no one likes me? Or they make fun of me? I had some people back at my old school who made fun of me for not having a dad then when my mom died it they made some jokes about it too. Saying neither of my parents loved me or wanted me." His voice cracked. I put my arm around his shoulder, he nuzzled his face into my neck.
"It's gonna be different this time Jeremy it's a new beginning, those guys ain't gonna hurt you no more. I'll make sure no one messes with you. I'll be with you every step of the way" I heard him sniffling.
"Thank you." He held my hand.
"No problem, I'd do anything for you."
"No, I mean thank you for coming into my life. I'm grateful to have someone like you." He finally looked at me. I smiled and gave him a quick peck on the lips.
"C'mon let's go get some ice cream. On me!" I helped him up and we walked holding hands.
