Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness. – Desmond Tutu
Y/N POV
Nervous sweat trails down my face while I rub the sweat off my palms onto my pants. I don't know why I am so nervous. It isn't like it's my first time on a set, but it's the first day of filming Black Widow. The first day of filming, Scarlett's first official movie in the Marvel franchise, and she's executive producer. The first actor to be an executive producer of their own movie for Marvel. I couldn't be prouder, but this movie should have happened eight to ten years ago. Technically, this should be her third and last installment if I had it my way, but unfortunately, every script Marvel wrote didn't feel right. We'd look at it and say it doesn't fit right with hers or my character.
Truthfully, I do know why I am nervous. I flew out earlier than I told Scarlett. I wanted to surprise her. Everyone from Echo Team was here: Kel, Reeses, Pieces, Raven, Rogers, West, and Mason. I learned my time got approved because everyone else asked for the same time off. If they didn't, it would have been denied, which is why there wasn't any doubt in my mind to ask them to come for a few days or all of the filming.
We were standing on the top deck of the ferry, the wind gently tousling my hair as we glided down the Hjørundfjorden in Norway. All of us looked down as the crew rushed around, setting up the first scene they'd be shooting. Gazing out at the scene before me is nothing short of idyllic. The fjord stretches out for roughly twenty miles, with calm waters reflecting the surrounding majestic mountains.
Wispy and delicate clouds scatter the sky against the backdrop of a serene blue sky. The slight overcast lent a softness to the light, creating a dreamlike atmosphere while the sun's rays filtered through the clouds, casting a warm and diffused glow across the landscape. It illuminated the emerald green forests and snowy mountains that hugged the fjord's edge and highlighted the colourful houses dotting the shoreline.
As the ferry glided further down the fjord, the view seemed to change with every passing moment. The interplay of light and shadow created a mesmerizing dance on the water's surface. Waves gently lapped against the ferry, creating a soothing soundtrack that blended harmoniously with the tranquillity of the fjord.
I took a deep breath, inhaling the crisp, clean air. The scent of saltwater mingled with the earthy aroma of the mountains and pine trees, creating a refreshing and invigorating combination. As I stood there, taking in the breathtaking beauty of the Hjørundfjorden, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe. At that moment, time seemed to stand still, and I felt a deep connection to Norway's raw and untamed beauty.
This week, we were doing most of the shots for Norway, and if we got those done, we'd be flying to Quebec to do the trailer scenes. There would still be a few more scenes to shoot in Norway, but the location wouldn't be available to shoot for the next two weeks. Meaning we'd be travelling a lot. It wasn't the most efficient filming schedule. However, what can you do when rushing many of your scenes with the main character's girlfriend? Next week, we'll be travelling to Budapest, where we'll meet Florence Pugh for the first time. Honestly, I am excited to meet Flo, even though I am slightly intimidated by her acting skills. She is such a talented actress. I've wanted to work with her since I saw her in Lady Macbeth.
