LANA DEL REY DARK PARADISE
Juliet was a smart child. She asked the man why he didn't just take Juliet home first, and then take home Jeremy after. Especially since William and Jeremy were going the same place.
But William could think on his feet.
"Jeremy has to help his mom get ready for dinner. Plus we were almost at my house anyways." He said, smiling through the rear view window.
"Clearwater Estates. You can just drop me off in front and i'll walk to my house."
The name "Clearwater Estates" of Juliet's childhood home always seemed kinda ironic. One because there was an actual lake next to the park, and the water was anything but clear. Two, the trailers on her street looked nothing like "Estates".
Juliet rode in the car for a bit. She looked out the window, waiting to arrive at her neighborhood. She waited for the turn on 547. That was the road that switched from the good part of town, to the "bad" part.
Juliet lived in the "bad" part.
She watched him pass the turn.
She wasn't worried, he probably forgot. The idea of kidnapping wasn't even a thing. That was something you saw on the news. No one had ever been kidnapped where Juliet lived.
Not yet
"um sir I think you missed my turn." She smiled sweetly. She waited for him to respond.
She wasn't worried Not at all.
But he didn't respond. The man kept driving, his eyes on the road. She felt the car speed up.
"You missed my turn." Juliet said more firmly this time. They were now on a back road. Juliet looked at her surroundings, grasping for something she could recognize. She heard the click of the car doors locking. She tried to open them again, and again, and again.
But there was nothing.
She looked around in the car for something to use.

Hammer
She grabbed it, and quickly began banging on the window. William noticed and tried to wrestle out of her hand while he drove, but it was no use.
She slid out of the seat belt and began to kick the window in with her feet, breaking it even more. The car was swerving while he tried to bring her back in. She took this as an opportunity, and jumped out of the window.
She ran as fast as she could, but her whole body was aching. She limped and hid behind a tree until it was dark outside. She had never felt so much fear in her life.
Eventually, she found her way home, limping the entire journey.
Juliet sat on the curb of her apartment parking lot. There was a police blanket wrapped around her, and Mike was talking to a couple of police men. She held her hand over her lighter as she light her cigarette.
After Jeremy had been knocked out, Mike called the police on her house phone. He held her until they arrived, rocking her back and forth. She didn't stop crying for a solid 15 minutes after everything happened. But eventually, she gathered herself, stood up, and grabbed another bottle of vodka. She drank it straight from the bottle.
Mike watched with a bewildered expression as the girl held out the vodka, offering it to him.
He didn't take it.
Now she sat, watching police wheel Jeremy out on a stretcher. Mike had left him horribly beaten. She would have to stand up eventually and talk to the police eventually, so she decided to do it now. She walked over to where they were standing.
Mikes eyes softened when he saw her. Her eye makeup had become so smeared, you couldn't tell what color her eyes were. Her hair was down and messy, and nose was red from the cold.
his look didn't make her feel cared for, it made her feel weak.
"If you want a statement, here it is. Jeremy broke into my home, threatened me with a gun, and choked me against the wall. If Mike didn't do what he did, I would probably be dead right now, or at least seriously injured. Everything he did was in self defense."
She stated blankly, while the police wrote down her words.
Mike looked into her eyes, and was met with complete and utter emptiness.
It was as if she wasn't there.
Mike talked to the police for a bit longer, they explained that right now, it was classified as self defense, and until someone pressed charges there was nothing they could do. Juliet started walking back up her apartment stairs.
"Where are you going?" Mike asked, chasing after her.
Juliet paused as she grabbed the hand rail. She didn't even turn around to look at him.
"I'm going to sleep." She said flatly.
Mike grabbed her hand. "No."
This time she turned around, pulling her hand away from him.
"What did you say?"
"I said no. Your not sleeping there. What are you thinking? He knows where you live! it's not safe." Mike said, trying to explain
"I can take care of myself." She said, trying to sound as harsh as possible. Even to her, this felt like a weak argument.
"Can you? You said it yourself, if I wasn't there you would be dead right now." He was a taken a back by his own words.
