Phantom's pov:

"Okay everyone, get in the bus, we have to get going." Copia rushed.

We spent the last night at a hotel and now we have to get going to another hotel. Tomorrow is our next ritual and we have a pretty long way to the next city.

I didn't have a chance to talk with Aurora yesterday after the ritual. She spent the night with the ghoulettes and that's fine for me as long as she is not with Swiss.

I think she is mad at me, but she just doesn't understand. I don't want her to get hurt. I know that Swiss or anyone else would never hurt her on purpose, but what if they do? And in any case, it's my job to keep her safe.

We have been through this with her many times before, but before i have been able to talk her out of it. I may seem like a dick, but it's the only way to keep her from getting hurt. I'm sure she is going to get over it this time too, she is going to be mad at me for a while, but she is going to calm down eventually.

I walked to the bus that was waiting for us. The bus was built like a small house, for example there were beds for everyone.

When everyone was in the bus we started driving. I sat down on the sofa at the end of the bus, we had a long way ahead of us. Aurora quickly went to her bed and pulled the curtain shut. I guess i just have to give her some time to tantrum.

After 2 hours of driving, Aurora finally came out from her bed and joined us. Still she didn't say anything to me. She just sat down and observed what others were doing. I couldn't help but notice that Swiss was constantly looking at her. Luckily we would soon stop to get something to eat, i was actually starting to get a bit hungry.

When we finally stopped i quickly got up from my seat and headed outside from the bus. But as i was walking towards the door, i felt someone gently grab me from my arm. I turned around to see who it was.

"Can we talk? In private?" Swiss asked, letting go of my arm. "Make it quick." I sighed and continued my way outside. I walked a little further from the bus, Swiss following close behind me.

"What is it?" I asked, turning to him. "I get it that you don't like me, but could you please try to even tolerate me? For her?" Swiss started. "I'm sure that you too can see how much all this is bothering her." Swiss continued. "Maybe it wouldn't bother her if you would just let her be." I scoffed.

"Phantom i'm not gonna lie to you. I like her, a lot and i'm going to be around her, whether you like it or not. I think the only thing that's bothering her right now is you not trusting her." Swiss says. "How would you know how she feels, you have known her for a few weeks. I know what is best for her." I said. "So are you going to stop her from getting to know new people or dating for the rest of her life? Just because you are scared?" Swiss asked. "Of course not, only until she is old enough." I said.

"Phantom, she is not a kit anymore, she can make her own decisions. I know that you want to keep her safe and make sure she is okay and that is exactly what i want to do too." Swiss said. "How could i trust you, i don't know you." I said.

"I know that you don't trust me yet, but i am going to prove it to you. Please just if you wanna be mad at someone, be mad at me. You are such a good brother for Aurora and she looks up to you more than you even know, but now you just have to trust her." Swiss said and turned around, heading inside to the restaurant.

I stayed there for a while before i headed after him. I guess he has a point, but still i'm not sure.
