Siege stepped off the transport ship and onto the dusty ground of Battle School. He shielded his eyes from the bright sun and looked around, taking in the sprawling complex that would be his home for the next few years.

The other recruits around him were already bustling about, grabbing their bags and heading towards the barracks. Siege felt a pang of homesickness as he watched them go. He missed his family already, and he had only been gone for a few hours.

But he knew he couldn't dwell on that now. He had a mission to fulfill, and he had to be ready for whatever lay ahead. He grabbed his own bag and followed the others towards the barracks, his heart pounding with excitement and nerves.

As he entered the barracks, Siege was hit with a wave of noise and activity. Recruits were shouting to each other, throwing bags onto bunks, and generally making a racket. Siege felt a bit overwhelmed, but he tried to keep his cool as he searched for an empty bunk.

He finally found one near the back of the room and began to unpack his bag. As he did, he couldn't help but wonder what his fellow recruits were like. Would they be friendly? Would they be bullies? Would they be as scared as he was?

Siege didn't have to wait long to find out. As he finished unpacking, a group of older recruits approached him, sneering.

"Well, well, well. Look what we have here. A little baby recruit," one of them said, poking Siege in the chest.

Siege felt his face grow hot with anger. He wasn't a baby, and he wasn't going to let these guys push him around.

"Leave me alone," he said, trying to sound tough.

The older recruits just laughed and walked away, leaving Siege feeling more alone than ever. But he didn't let it get him down. He was here for a reason, and he was going to make the most of it, no matter what.

Siege spent the next few days getting settled into Battle School. He made a few friends among the other recruits, but he also encountered more bullies who seemed to take pleasure in tormenting him.

Despite the challenges, Siege threw himself into his training. He was determined to be the best recruit he could be, to prove to himself and everyone else that he belonged here.

The days were long and grueling, filled with physical training, combat simulations, and classes on Xanthean tactics and technology. Siege was constantly exhausted, but he refused to give up.

As the weeks went by, Siege began to notice a change in himself. He was getting stronger, faster, and more skilled. He was also becoming more confident, both in his abilities and in his place at Battle School.

One day, as he was finishing up a particularly intense combat simulation, Siege was approached by one of the older recruits who had bullied him when he first arrived.

"Hey, kid. I gotta hand it to you. You're not half bad," the older recruit said, clapping Siege on the back.

Siege was surprised but pleased by the compliment. He had worked hard to get to this point, and it felt good to be recognized for it.

"Thanks," he said, smiling.

The older recruit grinned back at him. "Just remember, kid. This is just the beginning. The real fight is out there, against the Xantheans. And we're all gonna need to be at our best if we're gonna win."

Siege nodded, feeling a sense of excitement and determination building inside him. He was ready for whatever lay ahead, and he was going to give it his all.
