I pulled out my phone and connected the bluetooth to my cochlear implant device, before dialling her number. The phone rang and rang but no answer.
I looked at the clock and it was six in the evening. Weird, Is she sleeping? It's still early. Or maybe she went home?
Just as my thumb hovered over the end button the line got picked up.
But no one spoke on the other line, but there was a clear sound of muffling and it's like something was rubbing against the speaker before it went away.
"Hello?" I answered, but there was silence on the other end. I opened my mouth to call her name when I heard a masculine voice speak up very faintly like it's in the background.
"And if we get caught, we will make sure that you pay up. Do you understand?" A threatening voice said
"What did you say I didn't hear you" the voice said sarcastically after a pause a smack echoed and a sharp scream before the line went dead
And all of my nerves came alive with fire.
I stood up feeling my blood run cold at what I just heard. I dialled the number again, but no answer. Again but no answer. I ran out of the office and sprinted down the hallway and down stairs where it immediately took me to the hospital reception where Mister Jang, the receptionist, was sitting flipping through his newspaper.
"CCTV" I yelled at him causing him to scramble on his feet
"CCTV?" he asked, confused. I immediately went to where he was sitting and there was a computer. I looked around for the CCTV.
"Open the CCTV clips" I demanded as I panted feeling fume burn through my body
"First calm down why-" he said causing me to do the opposite
"Open the damn CCTV clips" I said, grabbing the collar of his suit pulling him firmly close to me as I glared down at him.
"Its against the hospital policy" he rambled still standing his ground, this fucking piece of shit
"Jia, Doctor Jia is nowhere to be found. Fucking open the damn clips or I swear if something happens to her I will make you pay" I said angrily with a loud voice not caring about the attention that is grabbing from the people who are passing by.
"I will only open it if I get approval from Doctor Park," he said, still not budging. I sighed deeply. Trying to calm down as I let go of his collar but also revising what the punishment would be if I were to punch and beat up a staff member. I opened my eyes and that's when a door at the corner caught my eye.
Without wasting another second I approached it
"Doctor Choi you can't," Mister Jung said behind me as I heard his footsteps close to me.
