A L E X A N D R I A

I sit up, swallowing the saliva that felt like needles going down my throat. My teary eyes glancing around the room. I see everyone, minus Charlie.

"Where's Dad?" I wince at the sound of my voice, sounding so small. My eyes pin Isabella's, her figure leaning in towards the foot of the bed.

"He's at work." She tries to give me a smile, "How do you feel?"

"Like shit." I try to smile back, hoping it looked genuine.

Hearing a soft laugh, I turn sideways. "I'm so glad you're back." Leah says, her brother pushing Paul away to take his place. "Holy shit! You're back, we have so much to talk about." Seth glances at Paul, looking away upon the taller man's glare.

I laugh.

"She seems fine." Emmett says, earning a shove from Rosalie. "What? She doesn't look like she wants to kill us."

"Emmett!" Edward warns.

"It's true." Jasper looks at me. "I don't sense any kind of negative emotion."

"I'm sorry." I turn to Carlisle and Esme. "I didn't mean to cause any trouble."

I feel the compassion in his eyes as he walks toward me. "It's over, don't worry about that."

"What about the Volturi, won't they want revenge?" I ask looking around the room to see their expressions of affection and optimism.

He shakes his head. "Aro let us go. He told Charlie they wouldn't go after him or us."

I nod. Pulling the blanket off, I go to stand. Paul rushing to my side to steady me. "I'm okay." I smile at him.

I grab his hand as I stand. "Carlisle." I walk toward him. "What happened back then?" I motion to our intertwined hands. "How could that happen?"

He glances down at our hands. "I've read about this, but never really believed it could happen." He continued, "Your bond, your powers all mixed together and it destined the encounter."

I glance at Paul. "The imprint?"

"The imprint had been suppressed long enough, with what happened, it had been neglected from both sides. In actuality, this was bound to happen if you look at it from that perspective."

"Imprint?" Bella asked, looking at our hands.

"Yea, I imprinted on her when we met." He looked sideways, recalling the slap from Bella, before meeting my sister's eyes, "It's one of the reasons why I flipped out, she's a lot younger. It felt wrong."

"Since then?" I mumble, remembering all our past interactions.

"Was that the reason why you became such a dick towards me!" Embry stated, looking at the taller man.

"Anyway, it appears after the spell wore off, you felt it too." Carlisle added.

"His smell."

"Like wetdog?"

I shake my head at Rosalie's remark. "An intoxicating smell, like waterfall, musk, I...I can't explain it."

"Ay yo!" Seth said.

Carlisle warmly smiled, leaving as he observed us one more time.

"Where's Renesmee?" I turn to Bella.

"She fell asleep."

I turn to the window, my eyes meeting the darkness and the light of the moon lighting up the road.

"We'll head out." Leah says pulling Seth out, "I'll see you tomorrow." She nods.

"We'll see her tomorrow!" The younger Clearwater states.

The others leave, Bella and Edward staying.

"Are you also leaving?" I glance at Paul.

"Do you want me to?"

I shake my head.

"Then I'll stay," he turns to Edward, "if that's alright."

The vampire nods, Bella nodding in agreement, "I'll call dad."

"No, let's tell him tomorrow, it's late."

Upon agreeing with me, the two vampires left the room, Bella giving us a small smile and closing the door.

"Are you tired?"

Sheepishly I nod, returning to the bed. I look at him and pat the space beside me. "Come."

He obliged, placing the blanket over us.

I lean my head against his shoulder, "I wish I'd known this sooner..."

Paul sighed, leaning his head against the top of mine. "I'm sorry."

"Don't apologize." I paused taking his hand and pressing it against my chest, "Thank you."

"You're not angry at them."

I shake my head, bringing his hand down. "I'm angry at myself."

I feel him grip my hand, "Don't." I could feel his restraint slipping away. "It's their fault."

"I don't know how you did it." He quirked his eyebrow, "Now that I have you I...I would go crazy if I ever saw you with somebody else." I whispered looking down at my hands. "This is bad...but I would've killed whoever it was."

"Okay, my little killer..."

I turned my head, looking at him.

"Too soon?"

I playfully nodded, rolling my eyes, "I just don't know how you did it."

Gasping as I'm pulled, he leans down. "I almost went crazy." I leaned toward his touch as he brought a hand up to my cheek. "I felt like the biggest idiot when I saw that blood sucker hold you back and even more when you left with them. I wanted to kill them."

"Even then, I couldn't because you felt for them. I couldn't hurt you even though it was killing me." He stopped talking, our foreheads touching. "I couldn't hurt you..."

"Paul..." We stared at each other's eyes, the tension in the air multiplying as we continued. All I could think of was how much time we'd lost, how much time we still had and I wanted it to be for eternity. My eyes glanced down at his lips, whether he saw the redness on my skin he didn't mention it, he just continued to gaze at me with an expression I could only decipher as passion. "Do you want this?"

I continued to look at his lips, "Because if you say yes...I'm never letting you go—not ever." It felt provocative the way he bit his lower lip as if he were challenging me.

A grin spread across his face, "Don't ever let me go."

I closed the distance once I heard his voice, our lips moving, his dominating mine as he poked his tongue in, asking for permission, I parted my lips giving him access. Our tongues danced, his hands gripping my waist moving me up and down on his lap. My hands caressing the back of his head, gently pulling on his hair.

It was electric, and more than satisfying, I wanted to drown in him. My body felt hot, our bodies pressed against each others I heard our beating hearts beating in rythmn.

I hated that we had to part for air, I hated how needy I'd become, but I also loved how much we affected each other.

Looking at his swollen lips and then up at his eyes realizing the hooded expression he had. My demeanor changed, hiding my face between the crook of his neck.

The rumbling of his chest making me notice his laughter.

"Stop laughing..." I felt him tighten his grip around me. "You make me nervous when you look at me like that."
