CHAPTER ONE

*April 5th,1992*(Natalie and Lauren's Apartment)

(Natalie's POV)
I was getting ready for my performance tonight at a club in downtown LA.The song I will be performing is I will always love you by Whitney Houston because she is one of my favourite artists apart from Michael Jackson.My outfit for tonight is a white long sleeve crop top,black baggy pants and white fluffy boots.My best friend,Lauren will be there to support me like she always does.She's a celebrity but she can go out without a crowd mobbing her or anything.

(LA Club)*7:30 pm*

I was waiting backstage for Prince to finish his performance.I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous.Yeah,I did this before but I can be nervous,right?Before I knew it,Prince finished his performance,which meant it was my turn to perform.I went on stage and the crowd immediately cheered

"Hi,to everyone in the club.I am very honoured to be here and I would also like to the thank the owner of the club,Jake for allowing me to do this.So tonight I'll be performing a song by Whitney Houston and I hope you enjoy",I said,before I signalled the sound engineer to start the song

During my performance,I saw a familiar face enter the club.Oh my God,that was Michael Jackson!!Why is he here?Wasn't he worried about getting mobbed?I guess not.My best friend, Lauren was hyping me up which made me smile.

"Go, Natalie!!",shouted Lauren, earning a few laughs from the crowd.Michael kept staring at me and I could feel my cheeks heat up.He looked handsome as always.Stop, Natalie.Focus on your performance.You don't wanna mess this up.I mentally scolded myself.After my performance,I thanked everyone before making my way over to Lauren.Michael came over to us and I swear I almost dropped to the floor.

"That was great.You have an amazing voice",said Michael, smiling."Th..thank you..Michael",I said, speechless."What's your name?",asked Michael."Natalie Janowski but I go by Natalie Jane",I replied."That's a beautiful name for someone as beautiful as you",said Michael,making me smile like an idiot."And who's your friend?",asked Michael."I'm Lauren Spencer Smith but you can just call me Lauren",said Lauren, smiling."You're that girl who signed with Epic Records last year,right?",asked Michael."Yep,that's me", replied Lauren."Well it was nice meeting both of you.I hope I'll see you soon",said Michael, before leaving.Lauren was smiling at me like a creep.",What?",I asked."He likes you", replied Lauren."No he doesn't.We just met",I said."Oh sure 'Thats a beautiful name for someone as beautiful as you",said Lauren,trying to imitate Michael's voice,which caused me to burst out laughing."Let's go",I said,walking out of the club,before Lauren followed me.

I can't believe I met Michael Jackson and he called me beautiful 🥺😍
