MABEL ESTHER

It has been three days since I left Yda by herself at the safe house during her heat. I admit, I was being selfish and rude. She shouldn't have been there by herself, I guess I was upset over the meeting with the Gamma of North Kingdom.

The Gamma sure had the nerve to insult my intelligence because I am a female and because I am an alpha. My blood boiled every time I heard him speak to me or point out the obvious, we were on mutual land.

He wants my land, the top part of Yuokn near the border to Alaska. The treaty proposed to me was for the land in exchange for the teens, I couldn't have cared less. If the teens were embarking on using rogue law to get out of whatever it was, it would concern me. However, they didn't even try to insinuate they were a part of the north rogues.

The Gamma or Alpha who was not present at the meeting, wants my land at any cost. My problem with the small acres of land is that it was never theirs in the first place. Before the war, we had the majority of Canada and Alaska right under our fingertips.

Alpha King Ryden Levi of the North is a piece of shit wolf and human being. His laws are no different from mine except for the fact he kills for pleasure while I kill for survival. My survival of reign has not come from fear, but dedication to the cause.

Lost families, juveniles, wolves, and she-wolves all have crossed my path for help whether they want it or not. Each wolf is different depending on the outcast or reason for benign rogue, most of the time it is because their pack was demolished by the North. Alpha Ryden has killed out almost all of the rogues for one reason, land.

If he wants a treaty from land to bodies of children I don't give any fucks about it, there needs to be a reason for the change. He could have easily killed them off one by one until all of their limbs were served to him for dinner.

I've met him twice in my life. Once when I was six before the war took place, and three years ago when we signed a treaty for the river/stream near the Alaska and Yukon border. He didn't want rogues coming and going as they please on their land and I didn't want rogues to be killed because the North was stupid.

Right now, I am on my way to the safe house to pick up Yda and bring her back home. She will need some rest, I am sure of it. The last time she had her heat, she was knocked out for five days... It was insane.

Driving up to the border of Nunavut and Yukon, I smell something different in the air. My truck windows rolled down and the light breeze helped me sniff out the foreign smell. It does smell familiar to me, but it lingers more towards the right to where I am going.

I stop the truck and take a deep breath, the smell is the scent of a wolf. A male wolf has been poking around here, the energy is stronger near the house. Yda would have told me if there was a rogue here... Unless she mated.

It couldn't have been a rogue, the scent is too powerful. It is too familiar as well, I have smelled this before, and I can't put my finger on it. The musk and sex smell cover the field, it runs down the path into the woods.

Walking up to the house, I hear voices inside. They are hushed whispers, one person yelling and the other voicing quietly unbothered.

Walking over to the side of the porch, I hide below the window ceiling to listen better. The voices come from the kitchen, a male and female. Yda and the male she must have mated with, she is trying to get him to leave.

"You need to go, my Alpha will be here soon." Yda paces the floor, "There is seriously no need for you to be here."

The male prompts, "You haven't bled yet."
