𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟓|The Party

I finally finished decorating the entire house,it only took me 45 minuites to set everything up.

the happy birthday Banner was Silver the balloons where Black and blue,I put the tortilla chips and salsa onto the snack table along with beer and soda I wanted everything to be perfect for Brody since it was a surprise party for him.

My Daughter left a while ago to go pick up the cake from the bakery,I had to remind her again to make sure to get some candles also so she wouldnt forget
I took a step back away from banner so I look at everything to make sure I didn't mess up anything up.

Everything Looked Good now all I needed was the cake so I can place it in the middle of all the snacks and drinks,I heard the front door open it was Stacy she was holding a brown box in her hands.

"Sorry if I came back Late mom the Bakery was crowded."Stacy said as she placed the box onto the yable where all the gifts were at.

"It's ok sweetheart you weren't late at all the party hasn't even started yet."I said.the party was going to start at 8:30 and right now it was only 6:00 I knew the guest were going to arrive shortly so I needed to go and get ready myself.

a hour later I was ready,I turned on my heel to look at myself in the mirror I was wearing a blue dress that hugged onto my body showing off every curve my shoes were white lace up heels,I couldn't believe I looked this damn good its been a while since I did a full face of make and weard a dress I felt confident.i heard music coming from downstairs knowing that some of the guest had already arrive.

I went downstairs and saw a few people who where already having drinks and snacks,everyone seemed to be enjoying the party but me at least I felt as if I was the oldest person here,cause all around me there was nothing but pretty young women it made me feel some type of way,like the odd one out I was feeling Incecure.

''Hello Mrs Knox you look so beautiful.''Valerie Remarked,with a genuine smile on her face she was my daughters best friend they both meant in there sophomore year of high school.

''Thank you Valerie,''I said sweetly.

"You're welcome,how have you been doing lately it's been a while since we've seen each other."Valerie asked.

"I've been Good I've been working and focusing on myself but enough about me,how have you been Valerie I haven't seen you come by since Stacy moved back in."I  told her as I grabbed a tortilla chip and dipped it into some cheese,I was starving I should've ate before the party started.

"Huh? I didn't know Stacy moved back home we haven't talked lately."Valerie said before taking a shot of tequila.

I was surprised to hear that because Stacy always talked about Valarie all the time and told me they both went out last weekend shopping together,I guess something happened between them recently not that I know of.

"Ohh I didn't know you haven't been talking Stacy hardly tells me anything."I said with a sad tone in my voice that I was trying to hide.my daughter rarely told me anything that was going on in her life it bothered me sometimes cause I wanted that mother and daughter Bond with her I long for,but I needed to not think about all that right now cause it was Brody's birthday party and it was his special day all about him,not about me and my personal problems.

"It's ok though I won't take it personal I know Stacy's always busy hopefully me and her hangout real soon."Valerie said happily as she took another shot and walked away to go talk to someone else.

"Everyone he's here get ready."Some random guy shouted loudly getting everyone's attention people stopped chatting and got ready to surprise Brody.

"SURPRISE!"

Brody almost jumped as he laughed with all his close friends they were wishing him a happy birthday he was talking and laughing with them.but once his gaze land on me,it felt like his Hazel Brown Eyes were looking Right Through Me in some kind exotic way.

I Stared right back at him as he made his way towards me through the crowd,Our eyes never leaving each other's.

"You look really Beautiful Tonight Halle."Brody said as he looked at me up and down with a dark eyes like he was trying to control himself doing something.

"T-thank you Brody"I mumbled trying not to blush from his compliment I was to grown to be blushing like a teenager that's having their first crush but I couldn't help myself.

"I really mean it you look amazing like you always do."Brody said with a small grin as he continued to look at me with those hazel brown eyes of his they were mesmerizing.

"You're just saying that.."I said quietly I shouldn't have told him that cause I knew he actually meant what he said,I was just not feeling confident in myself,while lost in my own thoughts he gently put his fingers underneath my chin and tilted my head so that I was looking at him.

"I'm not just saying that cause I want to I actually mean it you look really stunning tonight I swear any man would be lucky to have you."Brody Stated as his thumb brushed against my cheek his eyes were on me and only me.i felt something in my chest and I knew what it was and I wasn't going to let anything happen between me and him.

It was so so wrong even if I felt this strong connection between us I couldn't Linger into it he was not Mine he was my daughters boyfriend and I had to keep reminding myself that but it was hard.

"I think you should go look for Stacy."I said to him then pulled away from his touch.

"Yeah I probably should."Brody said.

He walked away from me before looking back one last time I stared right back at him as he left.

I needed to take some shots to take my mind off shit that I shouldn't be thinking about I took the bottle of Hennessy and poured some into a cup but then I got startled by the loud commotion coming from upstairs I recognize one voice and knew that it was Brody's he was arguing with someone,everyone also stopped whatever they were doing to listen.

I told everyone not to worry about anything and to  get back to whatever they were doing while I'll go check on what's going on.

I wasn't the type of person to be nosy or put myself in situations but I wonder what was going on upstairs with Brody and whoever he was yelling at I needed to find out.
