Hello, hello!
Greetings to you all, and welcome! I'm eager to see you all interested in this wondrous adventure I have planned for you! As discussed in the description on the front cover, this book shall be a tale interweaving the show of Lego Monkie Kid and the illusive mysteries of the game Ori and the Will of the Wisps. It is best that you all know this story I plan to tell takes place between seasons three and four of Monkie Kid, which will provide the best place for me to begin writing. This story can be found here on ao3 but also on Wattpad under the same title, where you will be able to see images for the chapter incorporated with the text. Most chapters will be posted on Wattpad first before coming to ao3 and then Tumblr. So, without further ado, I have some important rules to set for you:
Now, I do have some things to go over with you all—mainly comments and some rules:
1. For those of you familiar with Ori and the Will of the Wisps, by either having played the game or watching a play-through online, I would kindly ask you to refrain from spoiling anything in the comments for my readers. I want to keep the suspense for those who don't know the game's premise and leave my readers on edge for what will occur later in this story I have planned. If I catch any comments spoiling details of the game I haven't written yet or published in my book, those comments will be deleted. I will not tolerate it once nor twice, so be kind to others as they do unto you.
2. There will be death, bloodshed, and cursing—hence the mature tag I have on. I intend to make this book provide a sense of thrill and tension in the face of danger, and I don't want my writing abilities to be subdued. If you are uncomfortable with this, I highly suggest you find something else.
3. This book will be updated sporadically and randomly when I'm prepared to write, as I am unsure when I will begin writing. I'm currently reading Anthony C. Yu's "The Journey to the West" to become more knowledgeable of my approach to the characters of Lego Monkie Kid. Now, I won't be reading all of it before getting to my writing, but I will be going one chapter at a time to pace myself. I'm currently on the third book out of four books, and I feel confident with the knowledge I have on hand of my history of "The Journey to the West," even as I continue reading. I'm also rewatching the Lego Monkie Kid show to give me a good grasp on the characters while also redoing some parts of my own original character's sheet so I don't go into my book with what I assume to be all my eggs in one basket. I want to provide a good experience for you all and retain the accuracy of how the characters will be portrayed from Monkie Kid! The same applies to rewatching Ori and the Will of the Wisps's story and understanding their characters. In the meantime, when I'm ready to sit down and write, I will post an author's note announcement in this book for when the book will begin!
4. For those who have seen neither the show nor the game? That's alright! I would highly recommend to those who want to give both Lego Monkie Kid a watch and/or Ori and the Will of the Wisps a play. Please support the people who created these fantastic pieces of art because they're the ones who inspired me to do this fanfic in the first place! :)
5. Also, again, for those who are familiar with Ori and the Will of the Wisps, there will be a lot of creativity changes, such as, for example, getting rid of specific objectives or perhaps adding more to fight scenes for the sake of storytelling and to keep a moderate pace.
