" Frei, are you free tonight?" asked my cousin Raine.
" Why?" I simply replied.
" I need your help." He said.
" Help for what?" I asked him.
"There's this girl I like so much but she's a bit picky, she's so lovely Frei I want to be friends with her first." He said.
" Why don't you do it yourself? Raine, I'm kinda busy with my business right now in addition to that I'm not in the mood to hang out with your friends because I'm still waiting for Coleen to contact me again." I replied.
" Coleen? Didn't I tell you that I saw her the other day in the city? she seem to have a good life there while you? You're making yourself suffer this long?" He said.
" I love her and that won't change," I said.
" Love? That love is destroying you Frei, don't you notice that?" Raine said.
"What can I do if my heart is beating for her, Raine?" My answer.
" Try to find someone worth your love, remember you are a Loire and none of our clan would be played by someone like Coleen," Raine said but at this moment I felt that he was holding back his anger.
"I know, just give me time to heal and fix myself. You know me, Raine, when I say enough then it ends there, but for now, give me time to think" I said.
" Fix yourself, Frei, because honestly, we don't know you anymore. Wake up we're in 2025 stop wasting your time with someone who doesn't see your worth, someone out there is meant for you just open your eyes Frei" He says.
" Okay, I promise tomorrow I will forget about her. I promise tomorrow I'll be the Frei you used to know." I said.
" Good to hear that. Just be sure we're seeing a new Frei tomorrow." He said before he left me.
Hours passed and night came. I closed my shop and decided to go to the bar alone. As I parked my car I saw a lot of drunk men and women outside. Some of them are doing dirty things. I shook my head as I continued to walk inside. The loud music welcomed me I went straight to one of the poseur tables. I sat as I waited for the waiter to come to my table.
" Can I sit here?" said a familiar voice.
I turned to see her and I wasn't mistaken it was Elen.
" El? What are you doing here?" I asked in disbelief.
" I should ask you the same thing, Frei." She replied as she sat across from me.
" Do you have company?" She asked looking at me.
I shook my head as I called the waiter's attention.
" Good, order any drinks you want my treat," she said.
" Oh! That's so sweet of you but I can pay for my drinks." I decline.
" Haven't your parents told you that refusing a lady's offer is rude?" She said laughing.
" No! I'm not used to someone paying for my drinks." I replied.
" You'll get used to it Frei because from now on I'll be paying your drinks here." She said laughing again.
" What? Are you high?" I said.
" No! I'm low," she replied then burst out laughing.
" I think you're drunk El," I said looking at her.
" No! I just got her. I was about to meet someone but I saw you coming in so I followed you." she said.
" You're crazy! " I said.
" Yeah I know even crazier now," she said as she winked at me.
" You're not the El I used to know," I said as I put the tequila in my mouth.
" I have a lot of personalities Frei and trust me you're going to love them all." She replied then sipped her martini.
" I told you that we will meet again," she said after she put the martini on the table.
" Yeah! How does it feel when you ditched someone you were supposed to meet tonight?" I asked her.
" Happy of course! I don't know why but the moment I saw you walking inside my feet followed you." She replied.
" Your feet? Nice one" I said.
" Frei, why are you so serious tonight? People who drop by a place like this want to have fun. Stop frowning." She said.
" I didn't come here to have fun, I came here to relax," I said.
" Oh!! Does this place look relaxing to you?" She asked in disbelief.
" Yeah! loud music can help me fall asleep faster." I said.
" You're not going to sleep here aren't you?" she said.
" I will El," I replied.
" What? Are you kidding me?" She said shaking her head.
" No! I said and leaned my head as I closed my eyes.
" Frei!!!" said Elen.
" What?" I replied, my eyes still closed.
" Stop it! people are looking at you." She said.
" Never mind them," I said.
"Let's go to the dance floor," she said as she pulled me up but she suddenly lost her balance which is the reason why I was on top of her.
I opened my eyes and so did El. At this moment we both stared at each other I could feel her heart beating faster.
" This is awkward," she said as she gently pushed me.
I stood up and extended my hands to her to help her stand up.
" Thank you," She said.
" That's what you get when you take the wrong pill," I said laughing.
" Stop laughing." She said rolling her eyes.
" El, you're flat," I said.
" What?" She said but this time I could see her face turning red.
" I didn't feel anything earlier," I said as I held back my laughter.
" You're a pervert." She said giving me a death stare.
" It's not my fault, I was trying to sleep when you suddenly pulled me up," I said.
"We're not in the hotel Frei! why did you come here if you wanted to sleep?" she said frowning.
" Hmm.." was my reply.
" Hmmm, what?" she asked.
" Take me to the hotel then," I said.
"You're crazy! Why would I take you to the hotel when you have your place?" She answered.
" I don't want to go home now," I said.
" Are you drunk?" She asked.
I shook my head.
" No, I'm not drunk. The reason I came here tonight is because I wanted to forget someone." I replied.
This time Elen's face became serious.
" Broken?" She asked.
" Yeah but I'm fine," I said smiling.
" How can I help you?" she said.
" Just stay with me tonight El," I said looking at her.
" Okay, if you're ready to open up your life with me. I'm all ears Frei." She said.
" Thanks, I will at the right time," I said.
" No rush. I will wait for it. Frei, I know that you are having a hard time now, I can see in your eyes how sad you are and it bothers me, I do not know you enough but why do I have this feeling that my heart knows you." She said.
I was surprised after I heard what she said because that's exactly what my heart felt. Is it possible that El and I knew each other back then? or is there something weird about our hearts? I looked at her as I wondered if I already met her but I was sure that we didn't.
"What's on my face?" She asked me.
" Beauty, that's what I saw El," I replied staring at her.
We stared at each other and at that moment I knew I found someone who would replace Coleen in my heart.
