I turned around to an older man in his mid forty's looking at me in disbelief.  "Danielle Hayes?" I nodded my head and found my mom in the crowd looking at this man standing in front of me. He looked familiar but I couldn't figure it out. Aarons eyes were huge and Jase looked bored. The man sighed and I turned my attention back to him. "I wish I never left you and Arron and your mom being pregnant with Jase." It finally all clicked together. That would explain the similar looks in our face.

"Dad?" He smiled and held his arms open. I found myself running off the stage and over to my dads arms. I know what some of you are thinking if my dad left like that I wouldn't want to see him but him saying that leaving us was a huge mistake it just made everything better. Yea he hasn't been their for thirteen years of my life but I found myself hoping that he would try to make everything better with the family that he left fourteen years ago.

"What a minute. Aren't you and mom still technically married?" Arron had joined us with Jase struggling to get through the crowd. Mom still stood their as my dad excused himself and jogged over to my mom. In one swift movement dad wrapped his arms around mom and pulled her close leaning down to kiss her on the lips.  Since dad never filled divorce paper just leaving so by law they are still married. To my surprise my mom kissed him back.

Mom never started looking for another guy, never went out of a date, never did anything with another man. Well my dad that's a different story and I really don't want to hear about it but I'm hoping that he try's to fix things with us. I would love to have a father and daughter dance at my wedding.

"Danielle that was amazing." The team came running up to me and wrapped me in a group hug. Dustin left a kiss on my lips and Mr. Burton walked over to us.

"Congratulations Danielle on the win. Now we know you do the best racing in the mud. Cant wait to see you at the next race." In a second he was gone talking to some other racers. Dustin wrapped me in a bear hug when he released I looked down to see his shirt covered in mud from my jersey. Dustin looked down and smiled wiping the mud off.

"You know what I think we should go out to eat to celebrate. What do you think? If you want to you can ask if your dad wants to come with us." I nodded my head and walked over to my parents.

"Mom, dad were going out to eat so if you guys want to join us you can." Why did I feel so nervous all of a sudden talking to my dad.

"Sure I need to catch up with you guys." He turned to my mom. "Would you like to go on a dinner date with me?" My heart started beating hard at the thought we might be a family again. My mom blushed and said yes.

"Ok we got to get packed up and figure out where we are headed. You following us back to the trailer or are you staying with dad." Mom walked away with dad so I took that as a yes and turned back to Dustin telling him that their coming with us. I walked back up on the stage to push my bike down the ramp and I stopped in front of the team. Maddy was looking at my bike and I knew she wanted to drive it so I hopped off and motioned for he to drive it. A huge smile spread across her face as she jumped on and drove it over to the trailer.

I walked over to Dustin's side and he wrapped his arm around me as we made our way back to the trailer. A little girl came running over to us and jumped up in my arms.

"You did awesome today Danielle." I hugged Kylie back and set her back down on the ground.

"Thank you Kiley." I looked up and her parents were standing their waiting for her to come back. "I think your parents are waiting for you." She turned around and looked back at me. She gave me another hug and ran off saying goodbye behind her back. Dustin's arm found its way wrapped around my shoulder again. We all made it back to the trailer and started packing things up. I sent a quick text to mom and Aaron telling them where we were going and that we were going to meet their.
