Chapter 8

Harry held Lilly and Adam close waiting for the man to come back after telling them the plan. “You’re coming with us Harry right?” Lilly asked for the fourth time. 

“Of course,” Harry said, even though he knew he was lying. He also knew Adam was aware that he probably wasn’t going to get out with them so he was holding onto him tightly whispering thank you every now and again.

“Good. I want you to meet my mummy and daddy and our dog Twinkle.”

“Twinkle?” Harry asked amused.

“She got to pick the name,” Adam explained.

“I see. I think it’s a lovely name and I can’t wait to meet....?”

“Him,” Adam said.

Harry chuckled and just nodded before they heard the man coughing as he approached. Once he was in sight and walking by Harry gave the kids one last squeeze before standing up, “I have to go to the bathroom.”

“Too bad boy.”

“Please, just let me go. I’ll be quick I promise.”

The man thought for a moment before walking over, “You two stay back!” He shouted at Adam and Lilly. He unlocked the door and opened it and as soon as it was out of the way Harry launched onto him knocking him to the ground.

“Run!” He shouted back to Lilly and Adam. The two ran out of the cage and started climbing up the dirt. The man punched Harry in the face and chucked him to the side. He struggled to his feet and made he way over to the kids. Harry got back to his feet running over and jumping on his back just as he grabbed Adam’s shoe which slid right off his foot. The two got out the hole and ran for their lives leaving Harry there.

“Get off me boy!” The man yelled falling over crushing Harry beneath him. Harry laid there, wind knocked out of him, as the man stood up. “You piece of shit. You’re a goner now.” He started kicked Harry in the side.

“Ugh!” Harry cried out in pain. “Stop!”

He crouched down grabbing Harry by the curls and dragging him. “We’re getting out of here. Ain’t no way you’re going to survive this now boy.”
