Tori's POV
"Why did we decide this was a good idea again?" I asked my friend Synthia as I threw a shirt into my bag.
"It'll be fun! Also, it was the boy's idea," she answered, glancing up from what she was doing.
"Since when do the boy's have any smart ideas, Thia?" I questioned as I zipped the duffel bag.
"You'll love it!" she said as she closed her magazine.
"What's even up with this place?" I asked as I walked up next to her.
"Well, I know that it was only open for two years," she told me.
"Creepy," I said as I took out my phone to look into why it was only open for two years.
I searched up "Glenwood Medical" into the search bar and let the internet do the rest. I clicked on the first thing that popped up. The topic said "Glenwood Medical, Glenwood, MA". That's exactly what I was looking for.
"Whatcha doing?" Synthia asked interested.
The page loaded up and I read it out loud, "Glenwood Medical was opened on May 30, 1913 in Glenwood, Massachusetts. It specialized in the mental health of their patients," I skipped down the page as Synthia continued to watch me with curiosity, "The center was closed a short two years after it was opened. Reports just six month before the closing stated that some of the patients had gone missing. The disappearances slowly became more common. A week after the first patient had gone missing, they had been found," I trailed off.
"That's so eerie." Synthia said more intrigued.
"The next part's a bit brutal," I warned.
"Bring it on," she said jokingly.
"If you insist. A week after the first patient had gone missing, they had been found face down in the nearby pond with a noose around their neck. That is also how the other missing patients had been found."
"That's awful! How could someone have done that?" Synthia said shocked.
"The main assumption for the disappearances was the medication given to the patients had an ingredient that caused insanity. That then continued to make the patients do things that were dangerous, and in this case deadly," I read, and turned off my phone.
"I'm more excited than before!" she exclaimed.
"How are you excited about this?!" I practically shouted at her.
"I'm excited because it's an adventure. Don't be a baby," she said as she started laughing.
"I'm not being a baby, I'm just a little nervous. That's all," I told her quietly.
"You'll be fine. Now make sure you're done packing so we can get out of here," she said as she jumped off the bed.
I walked back over to my bag and just looked through it quickly. Usually, I was the one who was prepared for almost anything.
I had just about anything to get out of a sticky situation. It's just what I did. After I checked it over we headed to Eli's house, which was just across the street.
It was pretty convenient that we loved so close together. Synthia only lived about a minute away from us. Levi was usually always at Eli's house. Nikko was a little bit down the street, and I think Glen was the furthest away from is, living about three minutes away.
We all grew up in the same neighborhood and have been friends for years. I never thought they would have gotten me to do most of the things I've done.
