Seokjin's gaze lingered, softening as he traced the fabric of the Hanbok he had decided to wear on his mating night. It is pink, a gift carefully selected by his soon-to-be Alpha, Taehyung. A soft smile made its way on his face as Taehyung's earlier words echoed through his mind, declaring this shade was meant only for him.

He caught the sight of his reflection in the mirror, cheeks flushing as he imagined the night ahead. Tomorrow, they would finally come together as one, each leaving their mark on the other.

Longing filled his heart as the moment he had yearned for finally arrived - to openly embrace his Alpha, to be his forever.

Jin's reverie shattered by a gentle tap upon his door, he answered with a smile as wide as a horizon, hoping that behind it stood the bearer of news - the return of Taehyung from his journey afar. His gaze fell upon the troubled server, his brow furrowing in confusion.

"Has Taehyung come to meet me?" He asked his smile a delicate bloom of hope in the moment of uncertainty.

The server's hand quivered as she struggled to find her words, "Your father wishes to see you downstairs," she whispered, her voice barely audible above the flutter of nerves.

Despite the confusion, Seokjin nodded, silently acknowledging the server's nervousness. As he descended the stairs, the somber faces of his family greeted him, their expressions a mosaic of regret and sorrow, directed towards him. Uncertainty clouded his thoughts as he gazed at them, his heart heavy with the fear of hearing unwelcome news.

As his eyes met his father's apologetic gaze, a knot formed in his chest, stealing his breath. Without words, he searched his father's eyes for answers, but before he could speak, his father enveloped him in a sorrowful, hesitant embrace, and with trembling lips, whispered, "His Majesty is no more with us, he has been killed whilst his journey back home."

As the news of Taehyung's passing reached Seokjin's ears, he recoiled from his father, his face drained of color, as though the very essence of life had been drained from him. Each breath felt like a struggle as he sank to his knees, a primal scream tearing from his lips. Tears streamed down his face uncontrollably, despite his family's futile attempts to comfort him.

Through choked sobs, he repeated, "You're lying," unable to accept the reality of the loss.

His sobs echoed as he rose, eyes wild and pupils dilated, stumbling backward with each wavering breath. Rushing upstairs, tears blurred his vision, causing a fall on the stairs. His panicked mother reached out to help, but he brushed off any assistance, determinedly reaching his room, oblivious to who trailed behind.

He reached into his dresser and pulled out a dagger. Without hesitation, he thrust it toward his heart, only to be stopped by his younger brother's intervention.

His brother's hand lunged forward, wresting the dagger from Seokjin's grasp, yet Seokjin's grip remained resolute, determined to plunge it into his chest. Frustration boiled within his brother, erupting into a desperate cry, "Have you lost your mind? Snap out of it!"

With strength drained from his limbs, Jin allowed the dagger to his brother's grasp, his body folding as he collapsed to his knees, tears streaming down his cheeks. "I've lost my reason," he whispered hoarsely, "Let me fade away, to be with him," his voice broken by sobs.

Throwing the dagger away, his brother fell onto his knees to hug him. No words were spoken, but the warmth of the hug conveyed the unspoken sorrow. As they held each other, a whisper escaped, "Taehyung wouldn't want to see you like this," followed by a tender kiss on Jin's forehead.

Upon hearing that, Seokjin's body started shaking with sobs as he clung to his brother's embrace. He felt the weight of his emotions pressing down on him, overwhelming and unrelenting. With each tear that fell, it was as if a part of him was being washed away, leaving him raw and vulnerable.

His brother held him close, a silent pillar of strength amidst the storm of his emotions. He could feel the dampness of Seokjin's tears seeping into his shoulder, a reminder of the pain he was experiencing. But he held on, offering solace and support in the only way he knew how.

As the minutes stretched on, Seokjin's cries began to quieten, his body growing limp in his brother's arms. His breathing slowed, the rise and fall of his chest becoming steady and rhythmic. And then, finally, he succumbed to exhaustion, his body going slack as he slipped into unconsciousness.

His brother sighed, a mixture of relief and weariness washing over him. Gently, he lifted Seokjin's limp form, cradling him in his arms as he carried him to the soft comfort of the bed. With tender care, he laid him down, tucking the blankets around him as if shielding him from the harshness of the world.

Sitting by his side, he brushed aside strands of hair, his touch a silent prayer for comfort, as he gazed upon Seokjin's pallid face, marked by the trails of tears.

As the hours slipped by, Namjoon sat quietly by his brother's side, watching over him as he slept. Exhaustion weighed heavily on him, pulling at his eyelids and coaxing him towards sleep.

But just as he began to drift off, a soft voice broke the silence, calling his name from beyond the door. Namjoon's eyes fluttered open, alert once more as he listened. It was his mother.

With a gentle sigh, Namjoon reluctantly rose from his place beside his brother, his gaze lingering on Jin for a moment longer before he turned towards the door. He reached out and grasped the handle, pulling it open to reveal his mother's concerned face.

Her eyes filled with worry. "I'll stay with him," she said softly, her voice carrying the weight of a mother's love and concern. "You should go downstairs. Your father wants to talk to you about something."

Namjoon nodded, his own concern mirrored in his mother's eyes. With a final glance back at his brother, he stepped out into the hallway, closing the door gently behind him. He knew his mother would take good care of Jin, but still, he couldn't shake the feeling of unease that lingered in his heart.

As Namjoon descended the stairs, his father motioned for him to take a seat beside him, a solemn air hanging over the room. With a sense of anticipation, Namjoon and the rest of the family gathered around, their eyes fixed on his father, waiting for his words.

There was a heavy silence before his father finally spoke, his voice carrying the weight of his decision. "Tomorrow," he began, his tone laden with uncertainty, "Jungkook will be crowned as the new king, and..." He paused, the weight of his words evident in the hesitation that followed. "I've decided that the wedding preparations should proceed as planned. Seokjin will marry Jungkook."

Shock rippled through the room, disbelief etched on every face, including Namjoon's. His mind raced as he processed the implications of his father's announcement.

With a surge of frustration and concern for his brother, Namjoon spoke out, his voice tinged with urgency. "You can't force Jin Hyung into marriage, especially not now, when he's still reeling from shock and grief!" His words echoed in the tense silence, a plea for understanding and compassion in the face of his father's decision.

As Namjoon spoke up, challenging his father's decision, a wave of anger swept through one of the elders in the room. His words dripped with disdain as he addressed Namjoon, his voice cutting through the air like a whip. "No one asked for your opinion, Omega!" he spat, his disrespect palpable. "Your father is right. Seokjin's destiny is to marry the King. It's what he was born for, after all."

The elder's words struck Namjoon like a blow, igniting a fire of shame and humiliation within him.

Without meeting Namjoon's gaze, his father added his own voice to the chorus of disapproval. "It's for the best," he said, his tone heavy with resignation. "You're getting older too, Namjoon. If Seokjin can't fulfill his duty, then you won't be able to marry either. No one wants an old Omega with nothing to offer."

Namjoon's heart sank at his father's words, a sense of worthlessness washing over him like a tidal wave. He lowered his gaze, the knot in his stomach tightening with each passing moment.

Despite the disdainful glances and remarks directed his way, Namjoon gathered his courage once more and spoke out. "Jungkook just turned twenty not long ago. That's a young age to bear such heavy responsibilities," he asserted, his voice steady despite the tension in the room. "And Jin Hyung is five years older than him."

His words sparked a hiss of disapproval from another member of the family, their disapproval palpable in the air.

"Joonwoo, your son has too much to say for himself," the disapproving family member remarked to Namjoon's father, dismissing Namjoon's words as inconsequential. Then, turning his attention back to Namjoon, he continued, "Seokjin has learned the duties of a king by being in the presence of the former king. He will be there to support and assist Jungkook."

As the tension thickened in the room, Joonwoo rose from his seat with regal grace, his presence commanding attention. "Tomorrow," he declared with authority, his voice resonating through the room like the echo of a royal decree, "I shall convene a gathering in the Royal Court. We will seek the blessings and approval of Seokjin's union with Jungkook, alongside the esteemed members of our court."

With a decisive nod, he turned on his heel, his departure leaving an evident silence in his wake. The weight of his words lingered in the air, leaving the other family members and Namjoon with little else to say in response.
