Ron watched from across the Great Hall as you laughed with your friends. He couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy as he noticed how much you seemed to be enjoying yourself. He had been in love with you since he first saw you in the library in your first year, but you always seemed to be out of his reach.

He had tried to talk to you, but your sharp wit and clever mind always seemed to intimidate him. He couldn't understand why you didn't like him, he was always kind to you and even helped you with some of your homework. But you always seemed to brush off his attempts at getting to know you.

Ron sighed and took a bite of his food, feeling dejected. He had even confided in Hermione about his feelings for you, hoping she would have some insight on what he was doing wrong. But she simply told him that perhaps you just didn't like him that way, and he was left feeling more confused than ever.

But tonight, he was determined to figure out why you didn't like him. He waited until you finished your meal and got up from your seat, walking towards the exit. He quickly followed behind you, determined to finally find out the truth.

"Hey, Y/N!" Ron called out, jogging to catch up to you.

You turned around, a curious look on your face. "Oh, hey Ron. What's up?"

"I just wanted to talk to you for a minute," he said, trying to sound casual.

"Oh, okay," you replied, still looking a bit confused. "What about?"

"Well, I was just wondering... why don't you like me?" Ron blurted out, feeling his cheeks heat up.

Your eyes widened in surprise. "What? What do you mean?"

"I mean, I've always been nice to you, and I've tried to get to know you, but you always seem to push me away. Is it something I've done?"

You let out a small sigh and looked down at your feet. "No, it's not you, Ron. It's me."

"What do you mean?" Ron asked, feeling even more confused.

You hesitated for a moment before finally speaking. "I'm just... insecure, I guess. I never thought someone like you would be interested in me."

"Someone like me? What do you mean?" Ron asked, feeling a bit hurt by your words.

"Someone like you, popular and outgoing and brave," you explained, still avoiding his gaze. "I'm just a Ravenclaw, always buried in books and too scared to even speak to anyone I'm not comfortable with."

Ron couldn't believe what he was hearing. "Y/N, you're brilliant. You're the smartest person I know and you're incredibly kind and funny. I've always admired you for that."

You finally looked up at him, your eyes wide with surprise. "You... you think that?"

"Of course I do," Ron said, smiling at you. "I've always thought you were amazing, Y/N. I just never had the courage to tell you."

You felt your cheeks heat up at his words, a smile creeping onto your face. "Wow... I had no idea."

"Well, now you do," Ron said, grinning at you. "And I'm not giving up on you, Y/N. I'll keep trying until you see how amazing you truly are."

You couldn't help but feel a warmth spread through you at his words. "Thank you, Ron. That really means a lot to me."

"Anytime, Y/N," Ron replied, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. He had finally told you how he felt, and he was determined to make you see yourself the way he saw you.

From that moment on, Ron made sure to remind you every day of how incredible you were. And slowly but surely, your insecurities started to fade away, replaced by the confidence and self-love that Ron had helped you find.

And in the end, you realized that Ron was everything you had ever wanted, and you were grateful that he never gave up on you.
