I spotted Jade at the cafeteria and immediately made my way over to her.

"Ja-," before I could call her name a very handsome guy approached her.

"Jade, I wanted to know if you would go to prom with me?"

My heart dropped. I didn't want to hear her answer. Tears crept up in my eyes. I walked towards the exit. If this situation wasn't bad enough someone ran into me with their pasta plate and everything landed on my white shirt.

"Oh gosh! I am so sorry!" They immediately put away the plate and started to clean my shirt.

"It's okay," I stopped her arm and pressed a smile. "I will try to wash it off."

I basically ran out of the cafeteria. Small tears slipping from my eyes. I whipped them away and started to clean the shirt which wasn't even mine.

The stains didn't get off and I started to panic. More tears slipped from my eyes.

I heard the door opening and when I saw in the reflection of the mirror in front of me that it is Jade, I burst out into tears and turned towards her.

"I am sorry. I ruined your shirt," I said between sobs.
I felt her arms wrap around my back and my head got pushed to her shoulder. "I will pay you everything back. Just tell me what the shirt was worth."

"You don't have to pay anything," she whispered, leaning her head on mine.

Suddenly I felt two lips touch my head.

My sobs died down. "I am sorry," I croaked out.

I lifted my head to look at Jade and she was just smiling. No sign of anger visible.

"Why did you run out of the cafeteria anyway?"

I needed to think of a lie fast. "I was overwhelmed with the amount of people there."

"Oh! Next time call me. We will go somewhere else to eat lunch. Find a quieter spot."

I nodded and Jade gave me one last hug.
