"So then we just sat talking for hours, until of course my dad rang looking for me to come home. So he drove me home, and YES, I did get my goodnight kiss, with a firework display in my head."

Ali sat listening in awe of my amazing date which had taken place the night before. As cliche as it sounded, when Max and I locked lips as he left me at my front porch, I really did imagine fireworks. It had been splendid.

"Awww, Lilah I'm happy for you. Sam will be also. He was so worried about you the whole night. You know how is he is all protective over all of us."

"Yeah, I'm happy too," I agreed.

"So, when are Eleanor's bratty kids getting back?"

I had completely forgotten that Matthew and Victoria we due to arrive tomorrow morning, to celebrate Christmas with us on Wednesday. Thankfully, our house was quite large so i would not have to share my bedroom with anyone, unless Georgia, Charlie and I decided to have a 'sleepover' which happened very often. It was nice that we were all close, which helped after my mother's death, we all pulled out of the dark together. As Georgia was away at college, it was just Charlie and I having the sleepovers, but we didn't mind.

"Ugh, tomorrow, I'm really not looking forword to it. I hear Matthew is pleasant and easy going. But Victoria is a different story. I can only hope that we just keep our distance from each other. But hey, we could be besties by New Year. You'd never know," I answered jokingly.

"Oh, don't you even dare think of replacing me." Ali replied with a fake hurt face.

Then, I felt a pair of hands sneak around my wait and someone's hot breath on my neck.

"Hey babe," Max whispered as he placed sweet kisses on my neck.

"Dude! Could you please keep your hands off my sister in my presence!" Charlie cried.

Max and I chuckled softly, and I turned around in my seat to greet him. I was met by his lips that pecked me quickly, whilst my brother was not watching.

"Last night was amazing. We have to do it again," Max said as I nodded in agreement. Did I hear second date??

Ali was looking at us with wide eyes, obviously surprised at our actions, but no one was as surprised as me. I did not expect Max to even acknowledge me while my brother was around, but he seemed oblivious to everyone's staring eyes as he kept pecking my lips and cheeks.

"Lilah, we have to go get ready for this party, or else we're going to be seriously late, and you know how Sam gets when we're late," Ali said, but I knew by the looks I was getting that she wanted an explanation for what was happening in the kitchen.

"Oh you're going to the party tonight? I guess I'll see you there beautiful. " Max whispered ad he pecked my lips for the last time.

Ali and I retreated to my room to start getting ready for the party.

"Wow, what was that all about? He could keep his hands off you. If Charlie or I hadn't off been there, God only knows where things might have ended."

I let out an unsteady breath as I laughed. Ali was right Max had been very forward and I didn't see it coming at all. We did share a kiss last night but I was not expecting everything else to run so quick and smoothly.

"Honestly Al, I don't know what happened down there, but I will be looking for an explanation off him."

As I slipped into dress, I couldn't help but feel really happy about how I looked. I was sporting a sparkly purple dress that was cut off about mid thigh with some killer black stilettos. My blonde hair was pinned back in loose curls that fell down my back. My makeup was light, just the way I liked it.

Ali wore a red dress, with red heels. She had a thing about dressing according to the seasons and occasions, so her red dress was well suited for a party at Christmas time.

By the loud mumbles, I could tell that Charlie and his friends we're still downstairs, probably having a few pre-drinks before the party. Ali and I headed downstairs to wait for Sam, who would pick us up.

As we walked into the kitchen, I could feels a lot of eyes upon us. Turns out, Charlie didn't just have Max and Ryan over. He had the whole football team in our kitchen.

"Sorry, I just wanted to get water," I mumbled as I focused on getting out of here as quick as possible.

"No, Lilah, this is your kitchen too, don't let us make you feel put out. Come drink with us!" Charlie exclaimed as he put on a goofy smile. He was obviously drunk alreafy but he was a bit of a lightweight.

"I'm good, thanks for offering Charlie, but I better head I think Sam is outside," I replied quickly aware that everyone was looking at me.

Max chose this time to pipe up.
"No, I'm bringing you to the party and I will not tollerate rejection. You have time for one drink and then we're leaving."

Ali left my side to make her way out to Sam and we promised to meet at the party. Max grabbed my hand and pulled my to sit on his knee at the counter that was surrounded by boys. I chorus of "Awwh's" sounded from all fifteen boys, and I had to admit it was funny.

While sitting in Max's lap, I allowed myself one drink. Who was I kidding? I had planned to get drunk at the party anyway, so I may as well start earlier. I could still feel looks being thrown my way every now and then and I was becoming conscious.

"Why does everyone keep looking at me?' I asked Max quietly.

"Because you look damn hot in that dress. It hugs everything perfectly. Wow, you are a goddess."

I blushed as Max said all these things. I had been confident about weatig this dress but I didn't know I looked that good.

As we were leaving the house for the party, Max grabbed my hand and held me back. He kissed me as he done last night. Passionately.

"Promise you'll be mine tonight?" He murmered against my lips.

My legs were jelly. He was perfect.
