I walked to Mr. Hemmings' room as the last bell of he day rang. I knocked and opened the door and saw him erasing the board. He had one hand on his hip and his jacket was off, he was just wearing his white dress shirt and his black pants. He looked over and smiled as he set the eraser down.
"Ah, Miss Valentino. I was expecting you." He pulled a chair over to his desk and he sat down in his own seat. I sat beside him as he logged onto his computer.
"As you can see, you've had all perfect papers, except the pop quiz. You only got half of the answers correct, and I don't know if it's because you didn't have enough time to prepare, or what happened. But, I have a few things we can do."
"Like what, sir?"
"Well, I'm willing to help you study, out of school. Or you can do a few papers."
"I'd probably like both, is that okay?" I asked. He smiled and nodded.
"Of course, I knew you would pick both. Should we set something up?"
"I'm free anytime, I don't do anything really."
"How about we do two times a week? Maybe Tuesday evenings, and Friday evenings?"
"That sounds great, Mr. Hemmings." I nodded. He handed me a light stack of papers which were paper-clipped together.
"Just get these done when you can."
"Thank you, sir."
