Startled, we both jolted back, our eyes wide with surprise.
Within moments, the car was surrounded by a group of armed men. Two of them stood by Rafes and mine side, urging us to roll down the windows, which we did. My heart was pounding widly, and my body trembled uncontrollably.

"I told you, I will bring you the money."Rafe reassured the man.

RAFES POV

Suddenly the guy standing next to Anna's door pointed a gun trough the open window to her head.

As my heart sank to the depths of my chest, a suffocating fear gripped me, making me momentarily forget how to breathe.
If the barrel of the gun had been pointed at me, I wouldn't have batted an eye. They could have ended my life and I wouldn't care. It would have been one less Cameron, nothing more. But with Anna, the stakes changed. If even a single strand of her hair had been damaged in this situation, I would have unleashed hell upon each of them.

I reached for the weapon which was tucked snugly in the waistband of my jeans, adrenaline coursing trough my veins, I froze. The click of the strangers gun pressing harder against Annas temple shattered any plan I had mustered. He wore a mask, veiling his identity.

"Get out of the car, country club," he barked, his voice and the annoying nickname making me realise who he was. Barry. That bastard.

With a heavy heart, I relented. There was no other choice. I couldn't risk Anna's life.

I pressed the button, the soft click of the door unlocking
echoing in the tense silence. Rough hands grabbed us, pulling us out of the car. Fear etched deep lines on Annas face and I felt so guilty that I couldnt do anything. She should have felt safe with me, not petrified.

ANNA'S POV

We found ourselves in a dimly lit room, its walls closing in on us as we sat in silence. He was sitting on the floor across from me, and I perched on the edge of the bed, the weight of uncertainty heavy in the air. After we were taken out of the car,we were blindfolded and driven to a unknown place. We had no phones, no weapons and no idea where we were.

The tension that had built up inside of me became unbearable, and I no longer suppressed the tears in my eyes.

I couldn't ignore the reality anymore. How could I have allowed myself to become involved with someone whose existence invited danger and complete chaos? He was a drug dealer, probably the cause that I am an addict, the embodiment of everything wrong, yet I found myself drawn to him.
It was absurd, foolish even.

His gaze met mine, and in that fleeting moment, I saw a flicker of remorse in his eyes, a glimmer of regret for everything he had caused.
But I couldnt- I couldnt look in his eyes any longer.

"I'm sorry Ann," he whispered, his tone low.

"I hate you," the words spilled from my lips, cold and unfiltered.

"You are the worst,"

Though a part of me knew it wasnt entirely true, it was the only response I could muster, the only defense against the overhelming flood of emotions threatening to consume me.

"I will find a way out for us. Even if it means tearing down everything in my path, even if it means risking it all. I will do whatever it takes to keep you from harm."

His promise offered a glimmer of hope, a light in the darkness. But beneath everything there was the reminder: he was the person I was not allowed to trust. Ever.

"I'm tired , Rafe. Too tired," I whispered, sinking back onto the bed. Drawing the blanket over my body, I closed my eyes. It was the safest retreat, for I feared that any further words spoken in the heat of the moment would only lead to more regrets.

As time passed, I noticed that he was in the same position.
And then, in a moment of reckless vulnerability, I uttered the words that felt like the epitome of foolishness.

"Rafe, you can lie down next to me," I whispered, the words barely audible.

He heard me, his response silent but noticeable. Moments later, I felt his warm body behind mine..

I was writing this on my notebook so please don't mind if there are many mistakes or anything. The part is not really the best one
