Manan : Dev - paro

Among the students of the college, Manik and and Nandini's love were discuAmongssed all the time. Nandini's  friends and Manik's friends used to tease them face to face. But other students also looked at them and talk about them. Many people were jealous of this 'Ek Dooje Ke Liye' loving couple, while some had tears in their eyes. They thought about  themself, 'girlfriend should be like this only. Manik is so lucky. Who knows what kind of girl friend will be in our luck.'
Nandini's friends were in a fun mood on that day. All were sitting in the canteen in a group. Manik was staring lovingly at Nandini. His eyes were overflowing with love. Nandini  looked at Manik, she felt like she was going to drown in the ocean of his eyes right now. Embarrassed by the presence of her friends, she got up and walked away. Her  special companion Navya followed her . “Nandini,Manik is madly in love with you. Your name is woven into his breath. It seems like that if you don't become his , then he became like devdas. Then your story will become popular like 'Dev-Paro'."
Nandini  was embarrassed hearing Navya's words. She thought to herself, Manik and I address each other as 'Dev' and 'Paro' when we meet alone. But our friends seem to have given our name 'Dev-Paro'. 
Nandini was becoming more and more divine. Even in the dream of Nandini who falls into a sweet sleep with his memory at night, manik is the first name  when her eyes open in the morning. As soon as she reached the college, her eyes were searching for Manik.
That day both of them were walking in the garden after leaving the college. While walking in the dim light of the falling evening, Manik grabbed Nandini's hand and suddenly said, "Paro, you won't leave me, will you? If you go away from me, I will indeed became alcoholic like Devdas." Nandini's feet stopped there. She placed her soft fingers on Manik's lips and said, "What did you say? Love cannot be greater than life." "You started talking like a patient even before you became a doctor. Nandini, you have not become a doctor yet and I am not a patient lying on the deathbed in your hospital bed, I am your love patient." Manik answered Nandini's philosophy in an emotional tone.
When Nandini reached home with Manik's answer in her mind, Her father was smoking with anger in the living room. Nandini had never seen her father like this. She hesitated a bit as she stepped inside. As soon as she entered the house, her father closed the door and asked. "Where were you?" Seeing the appearance of the father"In college," said a startled Nandini, hesitatingly. "If you were in college, was your ghost roaming around in the garden with Manik?" Her father exclaimed.
Wo...dad....That ........" , Before  Nandini said anything her father had given the decree, "From now on you will never meet Manik. Don't you know about the hereditary enmity between him and our family? The relationship between you and Manik will never accepted." Nandini  was shocked to hear her father's order. She went to her room and fell on the bed with her head on the pillow. Nandini's pillow was soaked with tears. She was crying and remembering her dead mother. Her father was shocked to hear the word 'mom' from Nandini's mouth repeatedly. He followed her gently to her room. Roaming  his hand on  nandini's head, he only said,You are running after the water of mirage, Nandini. Have you ever quenched your thirst with mirage water?"
This one sentence of father bring back  Nandini into reality. She refrained from going to college for a few days on the excuse of illness. Her  father anyway got himself transferred to Pune. Nandini, who was traveling from Kolhapur to Pune, wrote a note in the name of Manik and gave it to a boy living in the neighborhood and said, "After I leave from here, stay for an hour and than give this note to Manik ." The boy gave this latter into Manik's hands but was to late as Nandini 's train had already left. The note only read “I am going too far from you, Manik . Remove the thoughts of mine from your mind and  give life to the study. Tomorrow people will need a true doctor like you. Don't think that i don't love you Manik , I love you but I love my father too.... So I'm going if God wants us to be together then we will meet in future. "
Manik collapsed after reading the note. There is no trace of where his nandini went in the letter. If the letter had arrived in the post, the stamp would have revealed its city on Nandini. But she had said this, so he had to respect  his Nandini's's wish in the study......
He tried toto study for his life, but Nandini's face did not move away from his eyes. He often remembered Nandini's's last words, "love can't be bigger than life." Manik  slowly started interpreting Nandini's's words   seriously. So was life really bigger than love for Nandini ?? .  That's why she quietly left the city without making me say anything? But deep down he knew that that's not true, but still, She can live without me, but how can I leave without her ?  Didn't it occur to her that I would go numb without her?”
Slowly Manik started really walking on Devdas path . Now he stays drunk all day trying to forget himself. On the other hand, Nandini took admission in a distant medical college in Pune. She immersed herself in study. From the childhood.” Nandini, who had lost the warmth of her mother, did not want her heart-diseased father to leave the world at this time. Years passed.  Nandini's study was over. After practicing in a private hospital for a year, Nandini decided to start her own hospital , Nandini expressed her desire to start her own hospital. There was no question of rejecting  for her father to his beloved daughter. Everything worked out for Nandini really well. The fame of Dr. Nandini, who worked tirelessly for the lives of patients and not for money, spread throughout Pune.
Navya after getting married  she came to Pune, after hearing about Nandini's fame, she came to her looking for her address. Nandini could not help but be surprised to see Navya, who had suddenly arrived after so many years. “Navya you? where did came from?  Who gave you my address?” Then looking at the mangalsutra around Navya's neck and the vermilion wrapped in senthi, she asked, "When did you get married?" Questions asked by her friend who left without saying or meeting, Navya replied in an angry tone and said, “You left Kolhapur without meeting anyone or giving your whereabouts. Where shall we find you? Just last month I got married in Pune. When I heard the praise of Dr. nandini from my family members, I realized that my Nandini is so close to us. Well, it wasn't hard to find your address.”
Nandini's eyes were wet with Navya's words. "Navya , how is Manik ?" She asked plainly. "If you haven't forgotten Manik yet, why did you leave him and walk like this? You did this very wrong Nandini. Manik had really become Devadas. No one knows where he went after staying in Kolhapur for a couple of years. Who knows if he lives or not...” Navya swallowed the next words. Nandini got distracted after hearing friend's talk. A sob filled her throat. Taking a sip of water down her throat from a glass lying nearby, Nandini said, "Our family's rivalry with Manik's family used to be carried out by his household from generations Navya. His family would never accept me. I knew that after we leave Kolhapur, Manik will surely contact you to know my address. That is why we left Kolhapur without telling anyone, anything.”
“How is your father Nandini ? He will be happy that the famous Dr. Nandini.” Navya asked. “Dad is no longer in this world. Now my patients are now my  only family.” Nandini's voice that had the sadness of loneliness again. * * *
Nandini's heart was ccoming out with guilt after meeting Navya . The father did leave this world with the intention of her  marriage in his mind, because she did not let anyone else sit in the place of 'Manik' in her  mind. And now Manik... where will Manik be? Will he...be alive or not? Manik, Manik, Manik,..... Only Thoughts of Manik surrounded her. The criminal spirit had in the mind began to affect the body. Nandini's health deteriorated. Nandini, who spends her life day and night only serving patients,  for the first  time landed in the hands of a hospital assistant doctor and went on leave for a few days.
After seeing the hospital number in the caller ID of the continuously ringing phone, Dr. Nandini refrained from picking up the receiver. But then after repeated calls she picked up the phone. “Yes Dr. Girdhar” she tried to avoid asking anything more. “Madam, you should come to the hospital soon. There is a case of accident. The condition of the patient is very serious. ” said Dr. Girdhar with a worried outburst. 'Dr. Girdhar, you know that I am on leave. You handle the case.”  Before Dr. Girdhar Put the receiver out of his hand , young man said “See Dr. Nandini, the patient's condition is very critical. He is a well-known social worker. As many as fifty old people are peacefully spending their evenings under his umbrella. For these old people, our dev Saab is like the 'parent of little children'. If anything happens to him, so many elders will become destitute.”
Out of all the sentences spoken in one breath, only one word touched Nandini's heart, 'Dev Sa'ab'. 'Isn't this my manik, my dev somewhere?' Her heart began to beat violently. “Yes, I am just coming.” Saying that she placed the receiver on the cradle. She quickly changed her clothes and reached the hospital. A patient lying on a stretcher was bleeding from the head. Seeing his face, Nandini's hands and feet began to tremble. . “My dev , my manik in this condition?” she spoke thoughtfully in her mind . But now is was not the time to relax. She prepared herself for the life of her love. She never thought that his words will came  true and really become her patient. She went from Manik's lover to Dr. Nandini. Dr. Girdharan instructed to prepare operation theater. Manik had to be saved at any cost. Not just for herself, but for the other fifty lives connected to him Also.
She stared at Manik lying on the operation table. "Ma'am.", She was shocked to hear Girdhar's voice to start the surgery. The tool was extended to her. Her hand trembled. In a moment she realized that she Dr. Nandini become the lover of Manik . She started the operation with her own hands. Manik was saved. Dr. Girdhar told her “Madam now if you want to rest then go home. I will take care of the patient.” “Patient”, the word hit Nandini's heart like a hammer. The person sleeping in front Dr.Girdhar was a patient,  but for her......“I will leave after the patient regains consciousness. Dr. Girdhar , said Dr. Nandini.
After two hours the hands and feet of the Manik twitched. As the anesthesia wore off, he opened his eyes for a moment and closed them again. Pain was evident on his face. Nandini's heart melted. “MR.DEV, R U ALL RIGHT?? she pressed Manik's palm gently, taking care not to let his senses peek out. Manik woke up with Nandini's warm touch. When he opened his eyes, his love, his paro was standing in front of him. “paro, paro you ? Where am I? When did I get here ?” Dr. Nandini listened to Manik's talk. Girdhar and the nurse's eyes widened in surprise who were standing next to her. But now it was not possible for Nandini to stay in the role of the doctor for much longer. She forgot all the worldliness.
Nandini “Yes, dev , your paro stands before you. For so many years, Manik, for so many years, your dedication has taken you by accidentally here . Manik , no one can tear us apart now. None. Nandini took Manik's hand very hard. Both of them were getting wet with mixed tears of happiness and sadness. The hospital staff watched the scene speechless.
After Manik recovered a bit, Nandini took him to  her house. She did not care about society at all. After a few days, Nandini was sitting and talking to Manik, where have you been for so long? Navya was saying that no one knows your whereabouts. You have drowned yourself in the alcohol. " While composing herself.
In response to Nandini's question, Manik sighed and said, “Yes, Navya was telling the truth. But an accident changed my life. An old man hit my car while driving drunk. Fortunately, he survived, but I quickly began to feel the excruciating pain of the injuries he sustained in the accident. I threw away the alcohol bottle. His gentleness gave great peace to my mind. After that, I started a large old age home in Lonavala with the decision to turn the life of elderly people into brightness. Today these elders are my family, my everything.”
Nandini was shocked after hearing Manik's story. She asked the Manik smilingly, "Dev, can I also join the family for this huge no. of yours?"
Manik was shocked after hearing from Nandini, he can't believe that she still wanted to be with even after know that he did not become doctor and wasted his years in drinking......
His eyes we're almost moist, he was really happy after hearing that but there is a doubt in his mind, he doesn't want his heart to break again so he asked her" What if you leave me again nandini? I won't be able to liv... "Before he can finished his Sentence  , nandini put her palm on his mouth..... And said that "please, don't repeat that again? "
Nandini knew that he will feel insecure about it, she was also prepared for that, so she ask him again," Tell me manik, what do you want me to do, I will do whatever you ask me to.... " Manik was surprised after listening her, He know that this is his chance to be with  his paro forever. So he took this chace and and ask her the question. He knows that nandini if their destiny are together she will agreed for what he is asking and if not than they are not meant be and they will also be like real  'dev-paro'.
"Marry me??? If you want to be with me than Marry me today itself nandini? " nandini was shocked which is an understatement but soon her face turn as bright as sun. As she knew that manik wasn't ready to let go of her this time, and she also doesn't want to live without manik. So she agreed .They got married that day itself  and lived there life happily and peacefully .
