I knew the position I was in was extremely dangerous, I needed to get out of the open. It was a ghastly scene. The deaths were rising on both sides of our parties, it was appalling. I hadn't wanted anyone to die but we weren't given the choice. We all had the right to live and now here we are, our kingdoms governed this war. That we the people had to fight, it was painful to see.
I now knew that this war was never the correct way to deal with this harrowing situation! I fled the battlefield, running like my life depended upon it because this was a matter of life or death. Why did I deserve to die? I slipped on water falling at the edge of the mossy pond. I could see Elias a few feet infront of me peering over the side rail of his boat. A hand reached up from the water and pulled him in.
"No," I screamed. My eyes met Frances on the opposite side of the pond. He dove into the water and searched for his brother frantically.. His screams tore through the air, "Elias." Water splashed all around as he kept looking for Elias.
