Okay, let me break it down for you.

One day, I opened my eyes from sleep after a long day of school, and before I knew it, I was teleported into Lookism.

Yes, just like that.

I don't know why I got here, or even who decided to put me into this world, but thank you so, SO much for blessing me with this opportunity.

Like, imagine this: if I'm a background character with no screen time, that means I could just chill and watch my baddies.

I seriously loved this situation. Because, if you think about it, Lookism is the same universe as Viral Hit, Questism, and My Life as a Loser, so I could visit their schools to see my babes. Maybe, if I get really really lucky, I might even date Taehun Seong, you know. And later on, as a lady in her 20s or 30s, I could go help out Yunseong to punish those criminals.

The only problem was that I was teleported as a middle schooler, but that was fine. It only meant more time to prepare my plans to go visit all my babes!

How could life get better? This was the ideal life that I could ever dream of.

Well, that is, until I got involved with Cheonliang.

Like, INVOLVED involved. TANGLED involved. Not just 'involved'.

"Mom, where are we going?" I asked with concern. Although I reincarnated as a background character, it seemed like this girl had some serious backstories. My new 'mother' kept glaring whenever she had the chance, and even tried to beat me after drinking a bottle of soju.

I did manage to supposedly 'block' those hits, but it is true that I did get some bruises.

And now, all of a sudden, my mom decided to drive me for 4 hours straight. We were approaching somewhere strange, and I really didn't know where we were going.

Is this a part of the plot? Remember it y/n... I told myself as the car suddenly halted with an eerie screech. I quickly looked around to see where my mom had brought me.

"Get out," my mom ordered, slamming the door as she walked outside. Gulping, I conceded, trying to search for any hints or signs that could tell me where she had brought me.

With a quick glance, my new mother pulled my h/c hair towards an old shaman.

Then suddenly, looking at the ugly face of the shaman, I realized where my mom had taken me.

Oh shit, I'm already involved in the Vin Jin backstory?

Unfortunately, this was Cheonliang, and I would have to go through a whole series of shitty events before I got to escape.

Damn.

=====

"This girl needs SERIOUS treatment. She is a monster who brings death!" my new 'mom' shouted, pointing towards me. As she shouted, she handed a huge bag filled with money.

"This is all I've got. Please, Mr. Shaman... I can't live with her anymore. She killed her own father!" she yelled once more.

Technically, I didn't, or the owner of this girl's body who was here before me didn't kill her father. My memory told me that after I had been born, my father had passed away due to an illness.

It wasn't my fault, nor was it anyone's fault.

But poor mother had no one to blame it on, so I guess she just wanted to relieve her stress by blaming everything on me.

The shaman showed false expressions of sympathy, nodding and sighing.

"Do not worry, our baby god will be able to cure that wicked curse. Let's see, she's got an evil spirit living inside! Oh, how unfortunate... we must kick that evil force out as soon as possible!" the shaman shouted with passion, which only made me frown in annoyance.

It was too obvious that the shaman was making everything up, but stupid mother seemed to be extremely delighted.

"Thank you, sir, thank you!" she yelped, happiness and joy filling her dull eyes.

I sighed, imagining what would happen.

If Seongji Yuk is the sacrifice, that would mean I'm a bit older than the main generations. But on the other hand, if Vin Jin was the sacrifice, that would mean that I'm the same generation as the main squad.

Either way, it wouldn't matter. I just didn't want to see this shit happen in front of my eyes.

I thought I would be living peacefully, as a background character, just watching the main characters fight and show off their handsome faces.

But guess not.

=====

The sacrifice was Vin Jin.

Vin Jin was all tied up, naked, without anything on.

I grimaced at the sight of blood being splashed on Vin, for the excuse of being a 'sacrifice' to cure my 'curse'.

My mom was praying with much passion beside me, and I was just closing my eyes, not wanting to see the situation any further.

After what seemed like hours, the ritual finally ended, making me want to throw up at the unpleasant memory.

"We're so lucky that baby god is helping us. You're finally gonna be useful!" my mother exclaimed at me, looking happier than any other time I had seen her.

She had completely fallen for the shaman's scam, and was now another member of the religious cult.

She was also planning to 'live' here until my ritual would end, meaning that we would have to live in this village for the time being.

The only problem was that the stupid shaman gave a whole new place for my mother near the shaman's home, while I was supposed to 'live with the sacrifice' for the time being in order to 'fully cure my curse'.

That night, I grabbed some ointment and bandages from my bag.

I always had some ever since I've been teleported into this world, just in case my new mother would come home all drunk and beat me up again.

I slowly stepped out my new room, which was very small for your information, and searched for Vin Jin.

"Hey, are you there?" I whispered, trying to see if Vin would react.

Getting no response, I decided to look around the small house.

One by one, I opened each door, and when I reached the third and final room, I was able to see a boy, who looked around my age, cowering with a face covered in tears.

I laughed. I couldn't help it.

Yea, I was worried as hell, but Vin just looked so ugly right now.

"Oh my, g-god, you look.. you look so, so bad right now," I was barely able to let out those words in between my giggles.

Vin glared at me, looking seriously offended.

After calming myself down, I crouched down to meet his eye level.

I reached my hand out, asking for a handshake.

"Hi, I'm sorry for that. I'm the girl from the ritual, and I know you don't like me. I just wanted to apologize that you had to go through that," I said, trying to sound as sincere as possible.

Vin just glared even more, looking irritated.

"And what do you want? Get out of my house you filthy scum!" he shouted, quickly wiping his tears off then proceeding to slap my hand out of the way.

I sighed, realizing that my first impression on Vin shouldn't have been 'the girl who called him ugly as fuck'.

"The shaman ordered me to live here, sorry. And I came because I thought you might need some help with those injuries," I said, pointing towards the bloody cuts and bruises all around his body.

Vin halted, looking surprised.

I smiled.

"Here, can I? It's ointment," I asked as I reached out my hand towards a cut on his shoulder. Before he could reply, I quickly applied ointment on his injury.

"H-hey!" he yelled, looking flustered.

"It's fine," I said as I applied ointment on the rest of his injuries. Vin Jin wasn't exactly the best guy, but right now, he got injured because of me. I couldn't just let that slide by.

Plus, hate to admit, but Vin was a baddie in the future. I couldn't let his ugly present stop me from getting closer to the future baddie.

This was my perfect opportunity to become friends with Vin before he entered his gangster phase.

Surprisingly, Vin kept quiet while I was wrapping bandages around some of his serious injuries. I looked up to meet his eyes in curiosity. I quickly fell in a trance. If I'm being honest, I expected his eyes to be disgusting in reality. But when I met his eyes, I was mesmerized by the unique beauty of it.

Soon enough, Vin quickly covered his left eye in a flustered state.

"Don't look!" he shouted, suddenly pushing me away.

I put a light smile on my face, looking up to Vin once more. Slowly approaching him, I slicked his long hair back, so that his eyes were clearly visible.

Vin flinched, but didn't shout or push this time.

"Your eyes are beautiful," I said quietly to Vin.

Vin, flustered, turned his head around.

"Liar." he said, clearly not believing what I had said.

For the rest of the night, we stayed with each other.

We didn't talk, no.

We just stayed there, sitting in the dark, at the comfort of another's presence.
