if we do allow ourselves to go onto the next chapter in our lives,
our children would never know how heavy our suitcases were to get to our destination,
they would not need to unpack the levels of trauma you felt,
the things you travelled along with since you were a small child,
hopefully they will not end up in a house full of anger and dismissal,
where efforts are dismissed,
where their frustration builds up to a point where baggage's of anger will start to unload,
i hope we build a haven, brick by living brick,
where there is no need for their emotions to explode,
i hope they can dance in the sunlight, free and uninhabited,
without having the need to hide their true self,
and be able to tell us how they feel,
we'll create a true home,
one where laughter spills like sunlight through the window,
where we gaze at each other and it leads to the coolness of our eyes,
where we can love in a way that is not earned,
but given,
here, where the echoes of your past will soften and fade,
where the strength you've built becomes a foundation we can both share,
you, my dear, who has carried the weight of a childhood unspoken,
may the love we build embrace the wounds you've kept inside,
and in this balm, finally let your true self confide,
we'll gently but surely create a tapestry of trust,
where silent fears can find their voice and right no past wrongs,
as i want to live in a place where you can be the mother,
that you never had.
