Chapter 3.

Throughout the whole day I would just follow pansy around just so I can learn where my classes are. Finally it's 8 Pm, and it's the last class of the day, or more night really. We have astronomy, bet it'll be my favorite class. Unfortunately it's a chosen class, only a few students are here.

It wasn't as I expected though, you have to self-teach yourself... great. At least compared to my old school I have more information about astronomy.

As I was looking at the books on a table, I glance at the other students. There was mainly ravenclaws, I couldn't see any Slytherins. Ravenclaw seems like a nice house full of creative people.

As I studied a book, someone pokes my shoulder. I turn behind me and see a ravenclaw, red-haired girl, not ginger. "Hey, are you new here?"

"Oh- uh yeah. You?" I look at her curiously.

"Nah, I've been at Hogwarts before. Never expected a Slytherin to be into astronomy." she laughs to herself.

"Ha yeah I see that. Why don't more people study Astronomy anyways?"

"It's considered nerdy I guess." She says disappointingly. "And also it's an hour before curfew really so, I'm guessing people just rather sleep in."

"Ohhh yeah makes sense for the curfew I guess. I don't think Astronomy is nerdy though, it's pretty interesting." I smile while looking away for a second.

"So what's your name? I'm Phiona Riverwood."

"Nice to meet you Phiona, I'm Estelle Starglass."

We both talk for the rest of the class until it's time to go in our dorms. As I was about to leave, I caught a glimpse of a guy who was still up near the railings. Out of curiosity, I go up a bit to figure out who it is.

And just like that I decided to not stay any longer cause of COURSE it had to be Mattheo Riddle. He's smoking too.. Whatever, it's not my problem.

I make my way to the dungeons into the Slytherin common room where I see my twin and Pansy on the couch talking to each other. I go next to them, wondering what they are talking about but when they saw me coming they sort of.. stopped talking.

"Uh hey guys, is everything good?"

"Yep don't worry Ez! Just talking about our classes today. What about you?" Pansy said joyously.

"I guess I'm good. I'll cya in the dorm."

She nods her head and I make my way to the room and lay down on my bed.

What were they talking about? Usually Noah tells me everything.

I feel like things are gonna be changing fast, I don't like it.

It's been a month and a few weeks since I've been at Hogwarts. I talk to my sister pretty oftenly, but Noah as been kind of... distant. Otherwise I've made a few friends, Draco being one of them. Though that's because of Pansy.

Speaking of Pansy, she's so sweet. She's such a girls girl honestly, but I still keep thinking about that one time she was talking to my brother, but anyways.

Otherwise I became friends with Blaise Zabini too, he's friends with Draco and Pansy.

Me and Ryatt have been talking a bit more luckily! But sometimes he'll bring up questions about my brother out of nowhere. Which I guess it's normal, he might just want to know more about my family.

Anyways, today it's the 26th October. There's usually a Halloween party in the great hall, at least that's what the teachers told us. They're gonna have a voting ceremony for the best costume and stuff like that. Afterwords there's parties in the common rooms so that's pretty chill.

I have no idea what my costume will be. And I want to choose something that isn't too slutty but isn't too boring either. Something that maybe Ryatt will love on me.

As I was day dreaming, the herbology teacher slapped my shoulder. "Lost in your thoughts Ms. Starglass?"

I snap back to reality, looking at what we were supposed to work on. "Pardon me miss.."

"Mhmmmm." She leaves to see other students.

I forgot we were in a teamwork, but my partner isn't there. I don't even know who it is, the teacher just said I'd most likely be alone.

As I'm working on the project, Mattheo Riddle bursts in the greenhouse.

The professor looks at him, then towards me. "Looks like you won't be alone after all, Starglass. Slept in, riddle?"

Mattheo looked around, then at me who was already looking at him in slight shock.

He's my fucking partner? You've got to be kidding me. He's just gonna insult me the whole time.

"Why can't I work on my own?" He questioned, slightly annoyed.

"Because this isn't a work alone unless there's no choice. Can't you be like your brother and actually cooperate for once?"

I look at the plants in front of me, trying to ignore what's happening. I hear Mattheo walking next to me, but he's keeping a distance between us.

"What are we supposed to do." His voice sounds arrogant.

"Read the instructions. I'm not your personal teacher."

"You're a bitch."

"Woah really? I didn't ask but thanks for the information!" I said sarcastically.

He scoffed before taking a piece of paper with instructions on it.

The rest of the class I did all the work of course. He did barely anything, besides read the instructions. What a helpful guy... ugh.

Once class ended, I walked towards Ryatt. "Hey, what are you dressing up for Halloween?"

"A pirate, seems pretty hot." He smiled.

My heart melted. He's so cute. And he would be totally hot as a pirate, he's right. "That's cool! I'm thinking about going as an angel or something.. not sure yet."

"Oooh, angel for sure. You'd catch all the people's attention, especially since you already look like an angel." He said in a friendly tone.

I laugh to myself. "Awe thanks. Well I'll cya next class."

We both smile and nod to each other then he leaves. MY STOMACH HAS SO MANY BUTTERFLIES. Did he just flirt with me?! Or maybe I'm reading too much in it.

It's curfew so I'm just sitting on my bed while talking to Pansy.

"Sooo have you decided what costume  you'll go as for the party Ez?"

"An angel, Ryatt said I'd look good in it."

"Ooooh, interested in the Dawntill boy huhhh?"

I start blushing. "As if! He's just.. nice."

"Just nice?" She teased me.

I start laughing. "Look, he helps me with work sometimes.. he said I already looked like an angel too! He's such a gentleman.."

Pansy looks at me with a sad smile.

"What's wrong Pansy?"

"Oh nothing, it's just you two would seem like such a great couple."

I'm confused, what does she mean would? she probably means in the future though.

I brush off my thoughts and change the subject. "So where exactly am I gonna get my costume?"

"Hogsmeade of course!" She looks at me a mischievous smirk. "Actually... are you game to skip tomorrow? Halloween is this weekend so I don't think we'd have time to get it."

My eyes light up. "Sure! My.. parents don't mind so it shouldn't be any problem for me."

"Great!" She squeals out of excitement. "Well, better get to sleep then, gotta save our energy for tomorrow."

She heads to her bed, and I finally lay down.

I'm excited for tomorrow.
