KAIA HUMMED QUIETLY as she ran her fingers through Aiden's hair as he slept peacefully in her lap. Her back was resting against the arm of the couch as her legs were crossed beneath Aiden's body as his head laid in her lap while his body was spread across the rest of the couch with a blanket pulled up to his shoulders. One of his hands were clenching Kaia's as the other held the blanket in his grasp.
Lily was curled up into Aiden's side with Daniel sitting along the top of the couch and Jessica sitting on the other end of the couch near Aiden's feet., neither parent letting Aiden out of their sight after the two came back soaked to the bone from the rain. After a long scolding from almost every single one of the parents, the two took showers, changing into warmer clothes and Aiden passed out in her lap the moment the two sat down on the couch. Ben was on the ground near Aiden, checking on him one last time before he and the others went off to school.
As the others were getting ready to leave, Kaia releases her grip on Aiden's hair for a moment, running it through Ben's as he was sat on the ground at her side. "We're going to be fine, don't worry too much about him, I'll text you the moment something happens." Ben glances up at her, bags clear in his eyes as none of them had really slept since last night and he gives a slow nod at her words. Kaia musters up a small, reassuring smile at him. "Besides, you guys won't even be gone long, an hour max."
