The sun glistened in my eyes as I woke up, it felt like energy immediately surged into me as I remembered what today was. The day had finally come for my family and I to pack our bags and head of to Switzerland for the summer. I couldn't wait get on the plane and say good bye to boring old New York.
I made my bed, had a bath and brushed my teeth. Since we had no time, my mother said we would just have to eat whatever we got on the plane. Coming back to my room, I realized that I had not packed my suitcase yet. Light-weight clothing was needed since it was gonna be sunny up there, I threw in some shirts, long and short jeans, some dresses, my favorite pair sneakers, sandals and some fun accessories.Just as I had finished packing, I heard my mom yell, "Celeste, hurry up or we might miss the plane!", I speedily closed my suitcase and raced downstairs, the thought of even being forgotten at home scared me. My dad, mom, older brother, younger sister and I promptly stuffed ourselves into the car and we were off to the airport. My mom and dad chatted as my older brother, Chris, full name: Christopher but we often called him Chris, was busy on his phone texting God knows who. My sister, Cleo, was playing games on her tablet using mom's hotspot and I was listening to music. I have always found it funny how my brother is two years older than me and my sister is two years younger. I'm sixteen, you do the math. I guess my parents were orderly even with the birth of their own children, they're not overly organized but they were quite sharp when it came to their lifestyle.
My dad always looked serious but in reality he is very fun to be around and he would normally take my siblings and I for ice-cream on Fridays. My mom is also quite fun to be around as well, she would bake cookies for us on the weekends so we can take them as snacks to school during the week. Just then I felt the car come to a stop, we were finally at the airport and early too! We took out our suitcases from out of the trunk and head out on our way to get checked in. After doing all of the security and suitcase checks, we sat in the waiting room waiting until we heard a lady's voice saying,
"Good afternoon passengers. This is the pre-boarding announcement for flight 89B to Geneva. We are now inviting those passengers with small children, and any passengers requiring special assistance, to begin boarding at this time. Please have your boarding pass and identification ready.
Regular boarding will begin approximately in ten minutes time. Thank you."Geneva isn't where we're really staying, we were just going to land at the that specific airport. Anyway, we picked up our stuff and went to the gate that led to our plane.
