SHOU TING

I pulled up to the acupuncturist office. It looked somewhat like a tanning salon.

"Hello, I am looking for Shou Ting, I made an appointment with her at 2. I am a little early." I said getting money out ready to pay for her services.

"Oh yes! She is waiting for you, you no pay right now, lata." Chinese receptionist says.

"Huh, what, I have. As stumble on my words the receptionist interupts.

"Come, come. Please come" she says as she directs me to follow her."

I follow her to a private a room with a massage bed. And I see a perfectly plumbed tan lady. She had to be about 300 but she was beautiful I could not keep my eyes off of her. She did not look Chinese at all but she did not look american. I said

"Shou Ting?"

"Why yes, I am Shou ting" as she says in the hardest British accent.

She was so confident, she made me nervous. She said thank you to the reception and nodded so that she would exit the room.

"Ms. Mcloed Dr. Ambrous told me aall about ya" Shou Ting said.

"Well, I guess I am a little stressed starting college this fall, and I do have little pain, that's what acupuncture does right?" I said nervously

"Sure" your gonna walk outta here a new person. Shou Ting said With her surprisingly British accent.

I stripped to my undergarments and hid my fat stomach with a towel, I laid down and closed my eyes. I was not scared of needles as long as did not watch them go in.

I felt the first few pricks, and then I felt almost high, and open my eyes and saw all the needles sticking out of my body. I didn't even notice she took the towel off of my fat stomach .I started to laugh uncontrollably, I looked at Shou Ting and she was just smiling I felt like I never have before. I felt sleepy and all of a sudden I was in deep sleep.

I can remember the dreams that I had vividly. One of the dreams I was with a man, who seemed to be my husband. And I was so beautiful, same size but beautiful, cause I was happy guess. The other dream was about college how I was doing so well. All the other dreams were positive views about my future.

I felt shou ting shaking me out of my sleep.

"BERTHA! You are ready" Shou Ting yells.

"ready, ready,.. ready for what?" I said

Shou replied "ready for the world."
