"I'm sorry, I'll be late tonight. Eat and sleep," the old man texted me. This is the sixth day he's sent this message. He's been incredibly busy lately, not even coming home for dinner.

It feels like he's ignoring me so much these days. He's just not the same anymore; all his attention is on his office, not on me.

He even forgets to bring me my donuts. Yesterday, I asked him to bring me one, but he forgot. This is something he's never done before. Why is he behaving like this?

I miss him at home now. He leaves early in the morning and comes home late. He doesn't even cuddle anymore or give me kisses. Has he lost interest in me? I feel like crying.

Even Abhay has gone on a business trip now. I'm all alone in this big mansion. Tears fall from my eyes. Why is he behaving like this? With these thoughts swirling in my mind, I fell asleep on the bed.

In the middle of the night, I woke up feeling thirsty. I looked at the jar beside the table, which was empty. I remembered the old man always filled this glass before we slept, so I wouldn't have to go to the kitchen. But now, he didn't seem to care if I was thirsty or not. I got up from the bed and headed towards the kitchen to drink water.

When I entered the kitchen, I noticed the old man standing there, searching for something. "When did you come?" I asked, approaching him.

"Just now," he replied.

"But why are you here?" he asked.

"I need water," I answered.

"Sorry, I forgot to fill the jar," he said.

"What are you looking for in the freezer?" I asked.

"I'm hungry," he replied.

"Didn't you eat dinner?" I questioned, even though I didn't make dinner.

"No, actually, I was stuck with work," he replied.

"But the food is finished," I said.

"It's okay, little dove. You should sleep. I will eat something," he said.

"I can... I can cook," I replied.

"No, no, you have classes tomorrow," he said.

"You have office too," I retorted.

"There's a difference between your stamina and mine," he said, implying he thought of me as weak.

"I'm stronger than you think," I said defiantly.
