Elvira

Our carriage strutted into the palace compound, pausing at the front entrance. It was already night time and fewer people were moving about.

Owen opened the door of the carriage, bowing as we stepped out.

"Healer Harvey?" Natty asked, walking past him.

"Awaiting you inside sir," Owen replied.

Natty nodded.

We walked down the stretched-out halls, laughter spewing from the banquet room. As usual, people were entertaining themselves there tonight. The place is always alive, and never a hush moment.

With a hurried pace, we made our way to the Everett's wing, Natty's wing. Servants rushed past us, clearing the hall and opening doors that needed to be opened, until we ended up in front of a silver double door with intricate designs. This must be Natty's room. I haven't been to this part of the palace before.

The servants pushed the doors open and we rushed inside. This room was fairly large, big enough that two wide beds could be placed into it and there'd still be more space. Everything was simple, yet ornate. The decorations mostly came from the panelings on the walls and ceiling.

A blonde-haired man stood in the middle of the room, wearing a white garment and a blue belt. Hanging from the belt was a Caelestis Insignia. The blonde beard and mustache he spotted gave a flair of elderliness. He looked like every basic depiction of a wizard in the story books of Elysia.

"Harvey," Natty nodded at the man, placing his mate on the huge bed that sat against the wall in the center of the room.

"General," the man returned the greeting, wasting no time to open up his briefcase pulling several tools out. He caught sight of me and paused, "Are you...?"

"She is," Natty answered.

"Oh! Apologies Your Majesty," the man bowed in a hurry, "I didn't know—"

"It's alright. Please carry on." I interrupted.

He gave a quick nod and proceeded to examine Natty's mate. Pulling out a gauze and a towel, he dabbed it on her forehead and temple, "Whoever performed first aid on her is skilled. They know a thing or two about herbs that's for sure. Because of them, her situation is much more stable." He commended, wrapping the gauze around her head.

I strutted to the divan opposite the bed, making a mental note to commend Polly when I saw her next. Exhaustion was starting to kick in, after all, today has been an eventful day.

Just as I sat on the divan, the double door swung open. Milo walked in, eyes already brimming with amusement.

"Could you open the doors any quieter?" Natty glared.

Milo met his glare with a smile, "Oh relax. I heard you found your Malachia. Isn't that an interesting turn of events?" He walked over to the bed and peered at the girl, and a crisp whistle left his lips, "My, isn't she a beauty."

"Milo," Natty growled.

"Relax," he chuckled, "we all know I'm not interested in mated ones." Then he turns to me and the mischief in his smile grows prominent. "Empress, how was your visit? Were Papa and Mama nice to you?"

"They were great and really friendly." I mustered my nicest smile.

His smile faltered as if a switch was flipped, falling into a look of boredom. "Well, that's anticlimactic." He clicked his tongue.

"Glad to be of amusement," I returned the sass.

The door swung open again, both sets bouncing against the wall.
